watched Chaplin the other day, not a bad film. Pretty interesting.

Also if you can, watch some of Chaplins actual material. I watched Modern Times and The Great Dictator, I expected to get bored halfway through, but both were actually rather interesting if taken with a grain of salt.

Chaplin is so underrated. That speech in the great dictator, gives me shivers every time.

Track down City Lights, if you can. It has a beautiful ending.

I wonder if they chose to film in montreal so they wouldn't have to use as much CG in scenes that called for crumbling infrastructure.

Just wanted to say that the game you are talking about is called The Last of Us for the PS3 and it is easily one the best games I have ever played.

Ellen actually went on to do another videogame though called Beyond: Two Souls. I haven't had a chance to play it yet as it was just recently released.

Here is a BTS making of video:

The controversy was from Beyond: Two Souls. Some players were able to unlock a full body nude shower scene which she never agreed to doing.

Not quite. Ellen Page had nothing to do with The Last of Us (aside from bearing a resemblance to the girl). In fact, she even accused the creators of "ripping off" her likeness.

Beyond: Two Souls is the game that she's actually in, and the game at the centre of this recent controversy.

Exactly, the main character in The Last of Us looked exactly like Ellen Page which is the controversy I was talking about. I didn't realize there was another controversy with the nude shower scene mentioned above. Perhaps she should stick to movies lol. Atleast we get to check out some fake virtual boobies.

Boobs can't save a show with that amount of repetiton. It is probably the worst thing associated with HBO that I have seen.

after watching the first season I'd give it a 7/10.

Pace is slow, almost glacial at times. It does take a look at some deep social issues of re-integrating death row inmates who have understandably been given no preparation for their release back into a free world. The show angles to the standpoint of the family of the convicted which highlights some eye opening grief, suffering, and the human costs for loyalty.

I can see the BB formula at times, the audience is going to be torn about a main character who we must decide is guilty and worthy/unworthy of redemption, or is himself of a victim of the faults of the world he lives in. Without a clear direction after the initial 6 episodes I have to say I will continue watching in blind faith that it's going to head somewhere.

Thanks for the recommendation.

I saw a few episodes of it back when I had HBO. I can't really remember what happened for the most part, but I don't remember it being as repetetive as Entourage.

The formula I remember from the latter was that some gig was available for the actor, he didn't want to do it, the main guy whined at him, the older brother cooked for the guy and tried to be taken seriously, and the fat guy who apparently slimmed down hit on girls. Eventually the main guy whined enough for the actor to relent and agree to do whatever acting thing, and then everyone got laid.

The only funny guy in the show was Ari. Everything else got boring really quickly. What do you figure will happen in the movie?

I've never been a fan of Lena Dunham, I think Tiny Furniture is awful... but something about the format of Girls and the content works for her. Her selfishness and pre-occupation with her own 1st world problems which generally usually make me angry keep me coming back. Maybe it's because I can handle it in 22 minute doses, or maybe the characters are actually engaging... or a mixture of both. But there's something there.

I think it's because it's depicting a culture I really dislike but all too often find myself associating with.

A little shameless self-promotion. Here I am talking about my film that premiered at the Festival Du Nouveau Cinéma earlier this month...
