He's 48. You're delusional if you think he doesn't have another chance.

A hot mess is missing the postseason by seven games?

****, then what are we?

The Sox almost made the playoffs last year.

Just think about that for a second.

The Cardinals can literally never do anything wrong.

They always have 15 prospects ready to take the place of anyone who leaves, they get absolute garbage pitchers to have solid years and/or throw gems in the playoffs, insanely ridiculous clutch hitting year after year after year. They get a rookie to almost throw a no hitter on the road in a playoff elimination game. And the pick that they drafted him with? The Pujols compensation pick. And their fanbase is like the equivalent of the Packers in terms of smugness. **** them. /rant

Go Dodgers.

They also are looking to cut $40 mil off their payroll this off season.

No matter who they get as manager, it's time to start spending money like it is going out of style. Blank checks to the BPAs in free agency. Keep the years in check and frankly, it makes no difference what they get paid per year.

Because of years, not salary. Choo is Choo at 10M is Choo at 20M, just no 37 year old Choo and we are good. Same with Garza, he may be a must sign. The more and more I think about it, take Garza's best offer, tack on 2-3M a year (as long as the years are reasonable), bring him back. Because of the constant gutting of the team and the attitude it has brought to the players we do have, we have to do something like that. Nobody is even close to him in FA. Tanaka is a wild card.

Choo is not worth 20M a year, ever. Garza isn't coming back.

Do you think Garza hated it here that much...or what? If we gave him the best contract by far, why wouldn't he come back?

I don't think the Cubs like him. There's a reason they didn't try to extend him.

Yikes, that would be very alarming. He's way too good not to like. Let's hope it isn't the case.

Garza really isn't that good. He's a very good, but not a great pitcher.

Well, that would be one more very good, not great pitcher than we have now. I guess you can throw Wood in there too, but the pitching staff needs upgrades.

Wood 2/3 starter
Shark 3/4 starter
Arrieta 3/4 starter
Jackson 4/5 stater

Add Garza and it looks pretty solid.

Garza was barely better than Scott Feldman this year. You want to pay Feldman $6 mil a year or Garza $18 mil for 5 years?

Feldman had a bad start in the fantasy playoffs and it helped me beat my friend in both our fantasy leagues for 2 championships this years!

Shark might be a 2, he's not a 2 now. I think he's gone this off season. Theo isn't going to give him what he wants (a NTC) so I think they move him while they can.

Despite the eh season, he still had good peripherals and a high BABIP. I'd be more optimistic about him than any of the other floundering studs.
