I guess I'm rooting for the Tigers...this is a very unlikeable group of teams. I wouldn't be mad if the Cardinals won it though; put more pressure on the Cubs, salt in the wound, that sort of thing.

Not sure if BWC is really Hawk. TWTW... The Will To Win...

Sabremetrics > Traditional Scouting

If Beane had any $ to work with, they'd have a WS or two

I'd amend that to read:

Sabremetrics + Traditional Scouting = Win

Agreed with NL, not with Cards if you posted that earlier. Unless it's our main rival (such as the Packers), I always root for my own conference or league, etc. .

Good

Northern Illinois is the best program in Illinois right now and is the one deserving of attention

Where do you see them going in the playoffs? (obviously assuming they make it)

They can beat Montreal if the game is at Toyota Park. Thats about it.

The team is so frustrating, they are the ultimate Chicago-esque team. Winning games they shouldn't and losing games (or drawing) they have no business losing. Soumare should ride the pine, he is hurting Berry's development.

Exactly. To completely discount and discredit either is foolish, in my opinion. The numbers are all great and serve a great purpose and are revolutionary in many ways, but they still should serve as a supplement for the human eye, not a complete replacement.

The Red Sox may win, but the Tigers are a better team. When one of the greatest clutch playoff hitters ever comes up with the bases loaded and you have a 4 run lead, an intentional walk is not a bad move. The Cardinals are so clutch (especially Beltran), even Kemp may not have made a difference.

Anniversary of Bartman incident. Watching Catching Hell doc. The way it played it out still amazes me.

Walking Ortiz would have just delayed the inevitable. The Tigers pen is terrible once again.

I have not heard anything like that lately. They were talking about it on the Score today. The documentary is excellent and recommend anyone to watch it. So many things I didn't know about that night. The head of security taking Bartman to her house, ect. They also go in to the parallels with Buckner.

Ultimately he was a guy in the wrong place at the wrong time. The way the story played out is fascinating. This is before social media, smart phones and no jumbotron at Wrigley. He then basically disappears. A-GON should be sending Bartman a check every xmas.
