Illinois winning + Notre Dame and USC losing = pretty good day of college football

Because they get hyped to **** every year. Only solace is that clemson already beat them.

Was anyone really hyping UGA much? I don't recall much, other than the typical they'll only go as far as Murray will let them before he chokes and kills their dreams.

They get hyped EVERY YEAR. That's the point. Their ranking heading into week 1 could be considered an over hyping.

They where a blown call away from beating Bama last year in the SEC title game and just beat a very good South Carolina team. They get ranked because their a good team.

USC is the team that gets overhyped and doesn't back it up every year.

Preseason rankings are overrated in general, IMO.

Although I don't think their preseason ranking was overhyping them at all. They're a good team with an underrated coach, that just happen to be held back by a QB who chokes under pressure, but certainly are title contenders, and still are despite their early loss this season.

Lots of positive buzz surrounding Illinois and Quentin Snider. Would be a great get for Groce.

10 game road trip for the Cubs, @Cinci for 3, @Pitt for 4, @Milwaukee for 3. 10 after that Atlanta, Pittsburg, @St. Louis.

Don't think they'll be falling out of the top 4 of the draft.

I told him at the football game Saturday he needed to come.

They are at his high school today talking to him. He visited campus over the weekend. Groce and his staff are down to talk to him, and UCLA sent an assistant coach. I think U of I is gaining momentum. All eyes on Cliff if we land QS.

10 game home stand for the Sox. Its pretty bad when both the northside and southside fans are rooting for lowest possible draft position.

That said, Im pretty happy with the lower level Cubs teams playing for their respective leagues championship.

Mini Cubs are gonna take the AA series. This is who the Barons are throwing in the decisive game 5: http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats...pbp&pid=594867

With 15 of their last 20 games at home - the recipe is there for the Sox to go in to full-blown 'blow the draft pick' mode. I'm crossing my fingers that it doesn't happen. It's been such an awful season and that's really all we can take out of it at this point.

There is no reason for Sale to finish out this season. It's good that they are doing the 6 man rotation, but 1, maybe 2 more starts, he's at 200 innings then, just call it a season and let him rest. Make a final push for that pick.

Tend to agree. Plus I think he's going to want a long deal. This off season is all about Tanaka for me.

I like what I read about Tanaka, good stuff, decent size, everybody wants him. Only thing that worries me is his workload. I don't want him flaming out like Daisuke. If that happens, the Cubs will just have to right it off and sign someone else like the Red Sox did. If Ricketts is ok with that, yes, go forward with it.

He's Korean, not Japanese.

Where did you read that? Everything I have seen says Japanese. Not that it matters anyway, was just making a point about how much pitchers are used in the Japanese league where he plays.

I think the Cubs need to turn a couple of these prospects into a real MLB player. There's no chance this team is any good if they are starting 6-7 guys every day that are under the age of 25.
