So which prospect(s) knock down the door this year and demand NHL playing time? Strome? Lee? CDH? Mayfield? Nilsson? Kabanov? Pedan? Someone else?

Does Strome force his way onto the roster by mid year?

Which Dmen will be ready by next year for the NHL? What do do with current NHL'ers as the underlings mature?

A lot of really tough and important decisions to be made. This is a huge year for many of our prospects....What do we do with all of them?

It's entirely possible we've made our last FA signing for quite a while. Only exception might be goalie.

The way I see it, strome blows away the AHL and is here by about New Years.

Ville Pokka assisted on his team's lone goal in 3:1 loss today. He now has 1 goal and 2 assists in 7 games.

Kirill Petrov has 3 goals and 4 assists in 10 games and he looks really good. Strong all-round play from him so far.

David Ullstrom has 2 goals and one assist in 8 games. I have yet to see him play however.

Nice to hear about these guys doing well. Hopefully Petrov has a huge year and joins the Isles late in the season.

To add insult to injury, the guy Graham fought was a 16 year old rookie.

How about VCR? I heard he had 1 goal and 2 assists and was a +2 yesterday. Not too shabby.

I can't wait for Pokka to come over.

I'm assuming he's going to be a leader on the WJ team this year?

Still licking me chops!

This guy is becoming more and more of a bull in china shop. If he DOES come over next summer, he's NHL ready.

Imagine Malkin size and hands but with the intensity if Gary Roberts. Give or take.

When Snow gets him here, that's how he will be described.

If he doesn't come to the NYI, he's Kvasha's less talented little sister. Give it take.

If Petrov doesn't come over, I think we can finally put the situation to bed.

You never know, but since this is the LAST year of his current contract, it's really the Isle's move. IF they truly want him to come over, they will do everything they can to get him to come. If they offer crappy money, well you know what will happen.

Well, I believe he is still eligible for a one year ELC.

Everything depends on Petrov's mother's health.

Bring her over too, better healthcare in the States than in Russia.

I think healthcare in russia is quite good if you have the necessary money. Being able to understand what your doctor and nurse tell you is surely also comforting. It's probably also quite complex psychologically.

I sorry Luki, but the best healthcare in the world is here in the states, no offense meant to other Nations, but it just the truth. I remember a certain 19 year old Ranger prospect dying on the bench because the Russians didn't have the right equipment available to help him.

Plenty of Russian doctors around here.

Regardless, while I don't doubt that his mother may have been sick, I still think it was an easy cop-out situation that he and his agent magnified in order to not piss the Islanders off (in order to keep leverage for his next contract).
