In Exhibition play Arnold has a goal and Gaudreau has an assist as Boston College leads St. Francis Xavier 7-2. They are 5 and a half minutes into the 3rd period.
Do you know if Boston improved their team this year or lost players due to graduation or whatnot? Are they still heavy favourites to win the championship in the Frozen Four?

IMO it's always ahrd to tell with College hockey, but BC is said to have an amazing Freshman class coming in this year. They will have a new starting goaltender as Milner graduated and a new captain as Whitney also graduated. I will have to look at last years roster to get an idea how many new bodies they will have.

But according to pre-season rankings Boston College is ranked #4. Yale is #6 (Agostino), Providence is #14 (Jankowski, Gillies, Gilmour). Michigan State (DeBlouw) is unranked but did receive some top 20 votes. Colgate (Harrison) is not ranked and received no top 20 votes.

Yale received eight of forty-five 1st place votes. Boston College on the other hand did not receive a single 1st place vote.

Poirier with back to back games of a goal and assist. Now has 12 points in 7 games.

I think Poirer is going to be ranked our best prospect this time next year. Its too bad he didn't go into the AHL this year.

He isn't allowed in the AHL this year. However as a late '93 birthday he will be eligible for the AHL next year.

Surprisingly enough the Flames drafted 3 players out of the CHL this year that are eligible for the AHL next year in Poirier, Monahan and Roy.

Don't think he legally could have. He's coming from Gatineau, so that's CHL. Too young.

On a side note; he is putting up RIDICULOUS numbers so far this year. He probably could have stayed with the big team, played ineffective minutes for 8-9 games and got sent down... But I'm truly happy that Feaster was pretty much like "Not NHL ready kid, let's see what you can do.''

If he keeps going at his pace (and let's say 65 games) he'll put up over 110 points.

Poirier is a late 94 birthday, but yes you're correct. Since he'll be 20 before December 31st in 2014, he'll be able to play in the AHL next season.

It's not really a legal agreement, so much as a gentleman's agreement between NHL teams and the CHL. But I digress.

I'm thinkin that JG will become top of our prospects if Monahan stays past 9 games. Poirier is good, but not Gaudreau good. If he makes a successful transition to RW he will definitely be on the future top line of the Flames.

I don't think he will have to switch wings, I think he is out most skilled prospect (including Sven). If he translates to the NHL I think he makes the top line at LW.

Yeah, but i dont think Sven translates to RW and poirier already proved himself as one. We dont have any skilled RWers and Poirier could fit that role nicely. Gaudreau will be our top LW when he comes in.

The way I see it

JG - Monahan - Poirer
Sven - X - Jankowski

Personally I see it that way as well, Janko being more of a wild card.

Yea I put him and then got lazy for the center. I don't know what he will become, I hope to get another first and get 1 of Vrana, Ritchie, Karlsson, Goldobin) and give us another top 6 RW prospect.

If we could snag Ritchie I'd be thrilled. He reminds me of Iginla.

Another 2G, 1A for Gordon, puts him in 7th in dub scoring.

First this kid had my curiosity; now he has my attention.

Personally from this past draft, I'm excited about Poirier, Klimchuk and Roy. I think they'll all be impact NHL'ers.

Slow as molasses in January, though, and not that strong. Absolute best case scenario for him is probably Andrew Brunette 2.0, and I don't think he's all that likely to hit that ceiling.

But at least those are weaknesses that can be improved upon; provided he puts the work in.

Losing 2-1 going into the third, but emile has his teams only goal.

Dunno if he has the tools to be a regular NHL'er at this point; but he can sure punish kids in the WHL with his scoring touch haha.

He's one of those guys who has to still develop a lot to dream of the big show.
