that sucks. it's tough for defensemen to get into game shape while holding back on one of the keys to what they do, hit. I feel bad for everybody involved. here's to a quick recovery.

Agreed.
Stuff happens even on routine plays.

Bart is playing for a paycheck.
The kid needs to realize this is The Show.
Whether it is in practice or especially in an exhibition he's going to get hit.

Unfortunate but reality.

Well, even if some others are, I doubt Pastrnak is blaming Bart. And he's not a wide-eyed innocent, even if he does look the part.

If a player isn't ready for the physical grind of practice, they sure aren't going to be ready for the physical grind of an NHL season, or heaven forbid a NHL postseason

I think Chris Kelly has already made Chris Kelly pretty much untradeable.

If Bart lets him go by with a pat on the pants this thread would be about Bart playing soft.

Detroit lost Mantha for 2 months. He is the grandson of Andre Pronovost who played 2 seasons or parts of 3 for the Bruins.

If he can't handle practice, he's too young. Going to have to wait for him to bulk up.

I wanted this guy instead of David,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joshua_Ho-Sang

But I guess we are just going to have to wait a year or two.

I guess David should've hit Barkowski back with a hard copy edition of "Doctor Zhivago", a corner end at that. LOL! Just kidding.

David might have had an old shoulder ailment that acted up. He will be back when he heals and gets stronger

If Bart can clock him that good, he clearly needs to bulk up then.

I don't think he was going to make the team out of camp anyway, but this might seal it depending on the timetable.

Can't handle practice? Cripes, Adam McQuaid gave himself a concussion a couple of years ago by tripping over a suitcase. Can we wait and see how camp plays out before making pronouncements?

He never "clocked" him. It was a poke check at the end of a 1-on-1 drill and a blown edge that sent Pasta into the boards.

He won't play tomorrow, but apparently it's not serious. He'll miss the opportunity to play with DK, however, and while this kind of thing happens all the time, one has to wonder about his size & strength per absorbing hits.

You mean the same Adam McQuaid that can't keep healthy?

Except when it's a contract year, and CK magically becomes "good" ... remember his goal-scoring prowess during the last year of his last contract.

I'll accept any excuse, reason or pun to trade Bartkowski.
