Since Kryukov pics are a little scarce I thought I'd post those. Non are flashy though. The Photobucket Links should work

There were a couple others in the Gallery he (#82) was in. But I could'nt find them the second time

Did You Even Click on the Link? The Russian spelling looks like Aptem Kpiokob.

And there is no S in his First name Artem. His Second is Spelled Either Kriukov or Kryukov. Not Krukov.

He played Regular in the Super league this year. Supposedly he had a strong year in Div 2 the year before. He's progressing anyway. I wonder if 5 years later the Sabres hold his rights any longer.

I believe European/abroad prospects rights are held through time. There may be a limit, like UFA age or whatever, but it's a different ballgame than North American draftees.

They'll hold his rights to the UFA age (which will be interesting under the New Way) assuming they make a minimal qualifying offer.

After the reviews of his play from last training camp, I'd be very surprised if they didn't qualify him an offer as soon as his current contract with Lokomotiv expires. Even if he has to sit in Rochester for a season, you can bank on Regier bringing him to this side of the pond full time to toil under the watchful eye of *gulp* Randy Cunneyworth. It not only gives A.K. a chance to further develop his game and get adjusted to the North American style, but also allows Darcy to save face a bit.

Artemis

a) regardless of if its spelled Kriukov, Kryukov, or Krukov, any of those three pronounce the same name, not like...

b) His name is Artemis in english, Art or Artty for short. Hell, it could also be Arthur! The point is that its not "Aptem" since the figure P in slavic languages translates to an R in english, so its "Artem" and you can wing it from there

Dude, he was just typing it how it was listed on his profile on Loko's home page. It's OK, but the ensuing *****fest is hardly anything that needs to waste bandwith on a highly populated message board. Do you have anything to add to the topic? Do you think he'll be signed? Are you happy with his progression to the RSL? I'm feeling a heck of a lot better about him now than I did two years ago, that's for sure. They need to bring him over so we can try to see what made Regier et.al. use such a high pick on him.

Exactly, bring him over and see if they can get anything from him. Considering how nifty his stickhandling and agility was during camp, it might be interesting to see him on a line with someone who can finish from in tight, be the player American, Canadian, Quebecois, Russian or Austrian....

I'm a little hesitant about him coming over. I doubt he makes the Sabres out of camp, and we had a bad enough experience with Novotny. Part of me thinks Kriukov will be the same.
