nystrom is gonna be utter garbage. hendricks too. stalberg is gonna be mediocre. i think cullen is gonna be our best signing.

on the positive, i am truly excited about some of our young guys.. i think wilson is about to make strides to being a first line guy. jones is gonna be a stud, confident after seeing him live sunday (i know it's early) .. and forsberg is great with the puck. we may be mediocre this year but im thrilled to watch this team grow! ... still hate the nystrom and hendricks signing. yuck

Personally, I like getting the grit, it's the contracts that suck. With that, it really has no huge effect on the team since we have about $5 in cap.

i love grit too but with so much money tied up in gaustad, hendricks, nystrom, clune .. it makes it hard to enjoy the grit. granted its not my money but it doesn't change the fact all that money is keeping us from upgrading our biggest weakness, our top six. hopefully forsberg and wilson fill those roles soon. i think they will.

even worse than the money is the term of those contracts... c'est la vie de free agency....

we've HARDLY "tied up money" with Clune... he's making ABOUT the minimum this year...

"@Latta17: Excited to play against the team who drafted me, signed me then traded me away. Caps vs preds. Here we go"

Sounds like he's ready.

I think with the sytle of play we want, those 4 (Clune, Hendricks, Nystrom, Gaustad) are going to get banged up and so there will likely be a rotation with each one getting a night off every so often but if everyone is healthy I still believe Clune sits rather than any of the other three. The only other option is to sit Smith, which might happen if he stinks it up badly enough

Hendricks and Clune are gonna be the 4th line wings.

Nystrom has a 3rd line role.

Book 'em Danno...

i know but he is still taking a roster spot. i prefer clune.. just hard to see the point in some signings when we have clune. who has improved offensively and become a fan favorite

5 on 3 against the Preds for 56 seconds. Klein and Gaustad in the box.

Preds getting throttled 3-0.
Fights.. Clune vs. Latta and Nystrom vs Beagle.

Nystrom sticking up for Klein after he was slammed infront of bench.

horny leaves the ice to the locker room without putting pressure on foot after taking slap shot to ankle.

Horny back on the ice.. sheww!

***EDIT***
Crew wrong on calling Horny name for another player. Thought he was back on ice. Turns out horny has been in locker room and will not return to the game.

I'd hope so. A Weber/Rinne-less + more Predators? Caps with pretty much everyone in from the sound of it?

No Weber, Josi or Rinne and it isn't that surprising we are down 4-0 against the caps. Look at our D. Jones, Ellis, Klein, Ekholm, Bartley and Piskula.

Not sure about Clune and Latta. Ny over beagle and Fisher schooled some other guy until the end guy got two punches in late. Goose is killing it in faceoffs. 11-1.

Caps have almost all of there top lines out there. We know who all Nashville is sitting.

So, we're the Avalanche for a night?

Again, not judging much on pre-season. We're sitting the good guys.
