Actually, no. It seems suddenly all of our national teams in other sports are doing great as well The field hockey team went to the EC gold medal game a few weeks ago, the volleyball team will also be present at the EC, the basketball team are playing at the EC as we speak (and just beat Germany today!), second time in like 20 years they made it.

Not sure where to put this but I'm watching Belgium vs italy under 21(missed most of it because of work) but 2 players caught my eye are number 11 and 19 both from Belgium. that number 19 has dangles for days, anyone know there names? Savi or Propain.

Also I know Hazard's brother is playing but is that also Lukaku's brother?

11 is Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco (Monaco)
19 is Massimo Bruno (Anderlecht)

And yes, the left back is Jordan Lukaku, Romelu's younger brother. He also plays at Anderlecht (although they loaned him to another Belgian team for the season)

Are they highly touted are just average players that happened to have a good game?

I haven't seen a lot of Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco, because he plays in France. Maybe Evilo could give you his thoughts about Yannick's potential and future.

Massimo Bruno is a good young player, but even at Anderlecht he's probably only their 3rd or 4th most talented player (ironically, their 'better' talents were on the bench tonight - Dennis Praet and Youri Tielemans). He does have great speed, he can score, and he's very determined and tough to play against. I think he can have a similar career path as Kevin Mirallas or Dries Mertens.

Two different players, but I haven't been impressed with Chadli recently. Neither at Tottenham or for the NT.

Neither guarantees an increased talent pool. "Big" doesn't mean efficient, especially not in an era where the rich become ever richer. Then again, a lot of smaller clubs fail dismally to produce talent.

I must smile at the hand-wringing over the idea that England may be forced to pick Championship players. The 66 squad included two second tier players, the 90 squad one. And in those days there were far more opportunities for English players in their own league.

Anyway, if there aren't opportunities for English players in England, they can always tryout for jobs in France, or Holland, or Germany and so on. All it requires is that in the short term they accept less money and leave their comfort zones.

Czech republic getting all the possession and chances and then Armenia get one chance from 35 yards out and hit it 1-0

Czechs totally dominating Armenia but Armenia score the opening goal, nice screamer from 25-30 yards out, top corner.

Really dirty game too, bad tackles, surely must be a red coming up

Armenia win would really open that group up for second place with a Bulgaria playing Italy.

True, but I think this group can very easily provide the worst runner-up, especially if Bulgaria don’t get anything out of the Italy match. If this result holds, it also brings Denmark back to life when in reality they shouldn’t be
