What's so strange is the 100 year flood was supposed to be a snow melt thing. Absolutely crazy that this is happening with NO snowmelt whatsoever
Imagine this rain storm the first week of June. Probably would be 1000x worse. Like Calgary bad.

They said on the news that if this amount of moisture had been snow instead of rain it would be between 150 and 200 inches of snow! YIKES.
Glad I didn't decide to go to Longmont today

The calculation they use is 10 inches of snow equals 1 inch of rain.

My city now has a Flash Flood Warning, luckily I live on a hill.

As you probably know all this moisture is from Gulf of Mexico which keeps building and rebuilding due to the mountains and pushing it north is the best case of storms after storms.

I heard a weather person say it was 20-25 inches of snow to 1 inch of rain

Oh I'm more than good. I live in a loft in downtown Denver. Boulder got hit really really bad though.

Denver's been affected but not as much as other areas. I rode my scooter home if that tells ya anything lol

It's raining again tonight. Next week it's supposed to be mid 80's again without a drop of rain. That's Denver weather for you.

Lol! So you bold everyone! Whatev

Anyways, I'll be okay fo sho. The thing that happened in my area today was kind of a freak thing (that road collapsing).
You should worry about JWK (or does he live north and just go to school? I can't remember) and the Boulder people, though. The evacuation areas are extensive and include a lot of areas where my friends live. It's bad and getting worse. People are having to evacuate on foot.
It's pretty sad, though. I spend a lot of time in Boulder and recognize everything being destroyed. My old dorm was one of two CU non-family-housing dorms that was evacuated and I'm an emotional woman sooooo

I live in very SW metro suburbs (I hate calling it Littleton because it isn't). Hasn't been hit as bad and a lot of hills instead of creeks over here. But the scary thing is this rain might not stop for two to three more days and the major roads in north Denver are starting to get affected. We get 10 inches of rain a year, some areas have seen that in the last 36 hours. It's not even raining that hard most of the time but the state really isn't equipped to handle it because we seriously never get this much rain.

Yeah I heard that over 5000 students were evacuated. I have no idea where from or where to, but I'm on campus and not getting affected by it.

No need to worry about me. I'm way down here in Colorado Springs. We've gotten a lot of rain, and some creeks are overflowing, but nothing like Boulder. I appreciate the concern, though.

My apartment is like that bay in Newfoundland that puts boats on the ground at low tide.

I don't think that's Newfoundland haha.

Maybe Bay of Fundy in NB/NS?
