Anyone want to buy my copy of GTA 5 for xbox 360? Still in perfect condition. I'll ship it to you for $30, more than 50% off a new copy.

First day on my new job, have a lot of challenges ahead of me, but I am excited. Good chance this is the last job for me, big opportunities for salary advances.

Thanks, I'm working at a laboratory running machines in the automotive industry. Scientists invent new parts, new materials and I test them for strength and durability, have my own shop, office and everything. Only problem is the guy they have now is retiring in 2 months, so I really have to absorb as much as I possibly can. I guess he trained with the previous guy for 2 years. It's going to be rough, but they really believe in me and I am just glad I found them before they found someone else because they have been looking for awhile. I just have to sack up and make it work. I have some experience with this type of thing but it's still so different, always is, I'll just work hard, take notes, maybe even wear a wire and record all of the teachings because this is it, then next year it's all on me.

I'm still mind-boggled that there was a bigger and deadlier fire in Peshtigo on the same day as the Great Chicago Fire, but nobody cared because it was in Wisconsin.

True story.

Wasn't there also a big one in Michigan (Or maybe Indiana) that destroyed another city at same time

Yup. Chicago, the Peshtigo area of Wisconsin, and Port Huron and Holland in Michigan all experienced massive fires on the same day.

A favorite pet theory of mine, that's completely unsubstantiated and therefore in no way really a theory, was that all the fires were caused by the partial breakup of Biela's Comet or another type of impact event.

Cool stuff man, hope it all works out.

On the verge of switching up my career path as well and have a couple of interviews this week.

We're bidding the yard again in a few weeks. I'm PAINFULLY close to having Sun-Mon off on days.

Very prelim research into buying a new car, as my current one's almost assuredly on her last legs at 310,000+ miles. Hoping to last another year in order to get a new 2014 model vehicle as the 2015s are being introduced to save a little money.

Leaning right now to the Mazda3 hatchback, but still very, very early in researching my options.

Had a mazda3. Nice cars. Love my KIA though, and the warranty is unmatched.

Yeah, heard that about their warranties. Will be something to consider.

Leaning Mazda at this point mostly from family experience, as my dad has a Mazda6 and my mom has a Mazda CX-something, and they're reliable and pretty fun to drive.

Also doesn't hurt that the new model 2014 hatchback version is pretty spiffy-looking, too.

It depends on how much you drive. KIA's come with a ten year, 100,000 mile warranty. I don't drive much as I live seven miles from work, and I'm on pace to put roughly 60,000 miles on my car in ten years. Knowing that I'll have a car covered for an additional four+ years after I've paid it off is worth a TON.

Tough to say. I'm mostly going to be doing city driving as well, so even leasing instead of buying might be a worthwhile option, but not a guarantee that I won't eventually get a more driving-oriented job, but hoping to either continue working in Evanston or Skokie and having short driving commutes or in the Loop and rely on the nearby Howard station L stop.

Like I said, very prelim looking into it. One of many options to consider, and hopefully won't have to worry about it in earnest for sever more months.

You guys hear about this woman who took a sledgehammer to an infant and cut the poor child's throat in Oak Lawn? What is wrong with this planet? It happened less than a mile from my parents house...

Dude.... I just searched and found an article that has vague details about what happened to that child, and I nearly puked from reading that.

Oh. My. ****ing. God.

What the ****.

I don't even know what else to say.

Oy, no more of that. Would rather keep to halfway pleasant thoughts in the OT. Or at least not stomach-turning bad.

I've been to San Fran. Saw the Cubs there in 2008 and loved it. However, go to Vancouver. It's breathtaking. When you fly in there, before you land, you think you're in Norway. It's ridiculous. So beautiful with the Rockies and the Pacific plus an awesome downtown. Robson is cool as hell.
