I'd really like to do a Seattle/Vancouver trip, taking the train from one to the other while I'm out there.

The next trip I take is flying into San Fran, renting a car, and driving up to Seattle with stops at a couple of parks, Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver. Still trying to figure out the best time of the year to do it, though.

Had an interview today for a job I'd kill to have, and don't think it went over well or that I presented myself well and who I really am.

Had one last week that was pretty easy. Have one today with a Chicago bank in an hour, so I'll probably biff it.

I hope it wasn't that bad, but yeah, something like that. Was just too stiff and by the time I had opened up and loosened up it was basically over. Really sucks, because I've never had an issue interviewing, but I've never wanted a job like this one so much before either. Guess it just got in my head.... We'll see, still hopes for a callback.

Try sending them a thank you e-mail. Something like "I just wanted to thank you again for considering me for the position, and I want to reiterate how appreciative and dedicated I would be if you chose me to fill the position."

Yeah, I have something like that in my draft box right now. Debating if I want to hit send or not. Don't want to come across as too desperate...

Agreed but if you are really iffy about it, it's worth the shot. Unless you felt like you nailed it, you may as well. A lot of people do it regardless.

Guess it wasn't so bad... Just got a call that I'm the leading candidate, and they can't wait to meet with me again next week for an audition, and to get the ball rolling, and that they'll email me the details later tonight.

BAM

Awesome, sometimes that happens. When I had my interviews for the job I just got, I had to interview with like 30-40 people first, had two conference room sessions with people firing questions at me. These were mostly people I would be working with and higher level managers. And I felt like that part went well, but when I interviewed with the person that would be my boss, one on one, very little was said at all. I was doing most of the talking. I didn't know what to think of that at all, and I was worried about it, but it turned out it wasn't anything to worry about. Maybe just feeling me out, who knows.

Wow, Dominick's pulling out of Chicagoland. A sign of the times.

Yikes, that'll certainly stink, especially as a Dominick's is the closest store to me.

Not that it really matters, as there's a Jewel a mile in one direction and a mile in the other direction.

That blows; I like their meat/seafood selection better than Jewel.

Just twiddling my thumbs at working waiting for noonish so I can leave.

12 hours from now, I'll hopefully be en route to North Carolina.

Damn, I handle pressure well, but I don't think I could do one with 30-40 people firing questions. That's just too much. I'm much better one on one, or in small groups when it comes to interviewing.

Mariano's is a nice store; I like the gelato. The meat section has a lot of healthy options, not a place I would go if I was having a BBQ though.

Dominick's prices are way too high. Saw this coming the last few years.
