The value is not very good. Vancouver doesn't really have what it takes to get Weber, IMO.

Yeah I don't get how this benefits either team. Not well thought out just some star players for a very sparkly, glitter infused trade proposal.

And when the Sedins hit FA after the year and move on, Nashville basically closes up shop.

You don't give up your top two players for 1 year rentals. And that's not even exploring the fact that (1) there is zero chance the Sedins will waive their NTC; (2) the Sedins may have stated regressing to the point where that would be relevant in any trade discussion; and (3) Nashville is a worse team immediately and in the future.

Saw the Sedins in the preview and new it would be Weber. Didn't expect to also see Wilson, but I should have known.

I've heard this rolling around so much lately. Find it especially strange given their play last year. Schneider and the Sedins were the only reason the team won the division. Vancouver's entire 2nd line was injured last year and it gave teams an opportunity to match up well against the Sedins. And still they played really well 5on5. Given that the Sedins are very cerebral players that rely on their puck possession, passing and positioning rather than speed, hitting and shooting I have a hard time understanding where this rapid decline will come from? All signs point towards the Sedins being a rare breed of forward that play in their late 30's.

The Canucks have 4 godo top 4 defensemen and their biggest concern this year will be their depth at forward. If Vancouver trades their only 2 natural point-getters they will be in the basement. Make no mistake, this is a terrible trade for BOTH teams, not just the Preds.

So Vancouver essentially becomes Nashville? Value wise it obviously favors Vancouver due to the Sedins' age and contract status but it makes Vancouver a much, much worse team.

Are you guys trying to say

1 Year of Sedins isn't equal to 13 more years of Shea Weber?!

Madness, I say.

I wouldn't trade Tanev alone for Weber.

This is what we're going for, right OP?

That's good, because Tanev alone wouldn't even get you Wilson.

Yeah, but now we can prefix Weber with the "aging" con as well.

all signs being held up by Booster club fans sure.

The Sedins as a pair have seen their point totals go down in 3 consecutive years since Hank's Hart.

will a 4th year actually prove to some fans that the Sedins are aging?

The OP was obviously dreaming of having Weber, and Wilson, in Vancouver, not a chance Nashville makes that trade, even 1 year ago.

Everyone is aging

I still wouldn't do Weber for the Sedins. It isn't a knock on the Sedins, I just don't think it's a trade that would make Nashville any better.

Spare me the cliche kool-aid comments. I realize the Sedins are getting older. To hold them to the same standard as their hart and Art Ross seasons is more than disingenuous.

The poster I was replying to said that because the Sedins are aging they basically hold no value. My point remains the Sedins will continue to be effective players until their late 30's with the analysis I provided....Will their production drop-off? Of course it will. It's stupid to think otherwise. These types of replies are frustrating. Because I think the Sedins will continue to their late 30's as effective players i'm regarded as a "booster club fan' ----bugger off.

Canucks say no easily. Our biggest problem is scoring, it makes no sense to trade away our two best scorers.
