Managers performance in playoffs

I was talking with a few other baseball fans about different managers and the playoffs etc. Anyway we got to talking about TLR managing in the entire 2011 playoffs and we all agreed that it was the best managing performance that we have seen in the playoffs primarily his use of the bullpen and just in general every move he made seemed to work that year. Granted we are all somewhat young in are early 30's so we have not seen a ton of great manager performances. What are other peoples thought of great manager performances in playoffs? What is the general opinion of TLR performance in the 2011 postseason for those who watched most of the Cardinals games?

Wait, wasn't that the year he called the bullpen and warmed up the wrong guy?

Joe Torre was one of those guy whose every move he made with the Yankees seemed to work out in 1996.

Word is that is not what happened however he took the blame for it but if I remember correctly the bullpen coach missed something. Don't think we will ever know for sure what actually happened however even with that his handling of the bullpen was a masterpiece in 2011. Especially with how much the bullpen actually had to pitch.

Yea. Too bad it had no effect on the series. TLR always kept things like that on the DL anyway, a la belichick.
