I laughed at the person who said they would win 55 games this year, but they just might. In fact, given the fact they have blown almost 30 saves, if they bring in some real relivers this offseason, they may only lose 90 next year. They have some really promising offensive prospects.

A's now go into the weekend series with Texas up 3.5. After this series, the A's last 13 are against LAA, Min, LAA, Sea.

I like their odds for the west.

So has Oakland. The A's also have a solid rotation vs 2 great starters and 3 garbage ones. The better bullpen, too.

And no aging stars with primes behind them with billions left on their contracts, lets not forget.

Brett Gardner left the game after his first at bat. He checked his swing, grimaced, and grabbed his lower back.

Reynolds has been a nifty pickup for the Yankees. I'm not a big Cashman fan but he had a real nice deadline/September.

I just wish he had made moves to acquire a right handed bat much earlier. It was such a glaring need for months before he acted on it. Can't argue with the ones he picked up obviously.

4-0 Yankees as Vernon Wells comes through.

Red Sox just tied it.

Wil Myers! 4-3 Rays in the 8th.

And they hold on for the huge W.
