Flash-Barkov-Kopecky is looking like it could be a really good line. They look great together.

Makes sense, Barkov is just an improved version of Goc.

If we go with that line, who plays with Huby? Maybe:

Steeger - Matty - Huby
Flash - Barkov - Kopecky
Bergy - Goc - Upshall

That's what I was thinking, except replace Uppy with Boyes.

Barkov and Goc are nothing alike, outside of both being responsible hockey players.

Steeg and Huby switch wings, otherwise probably this.

In my opinion, based on who's playing with who... I think they may be favoring Trocheck over Shore.. He's also been a lot better in camp. If I had it my way...

Fleishmann-Barkov-Kopecky
Huberdeau-Trocheck-Versteeg
Bergenheim-Goc-Boyes
Matthias-Gomez-Winchester

But I doubt they bring up Trocheck right away, he's just looked really solid.... and unfortunately Upshall will probably have to be in the lineup. So realistically I see it like...

Fleishmann-Barkov-Kopecky
Huberdeau-Matthias-Versteeg
Bergenheim-Goc-Boyes
Winchester-Gomez-Upshall

He has been playing with Upshall and Versteeg, he's definitely outplayed Upshall.. Seems to fit well with Versteeg. He hasn't made mistakes, seems composed, has gotten a bunch of shots off in camp and has been in position to get passes a bunch. Hasn't really made mistakes. I like him more the Shore. Probably would favor Bjugstad if he was healthy though.

I meant in the way that they are both defensively responsible, cerebral, and smart playmakers. Did I imply that Barkov was a carbon copy of Goc? No, I don't think I did...

That's only if Trocheck would make it, which is doubtful.. They wouldn't bring up VT to play in a bottom 6 role.. It's an unlikely scenario which is why I said most likely its Matthias as 2nd line center. That was purely what I would want the lineup to look like.

To me, Hubs-Trocheck-Versteeg is a lot sexier of a line then Hubs-Matthias-Versteeg.

Bergy and Bjugy both injured. For the love of GOD, can we start just one season with no freaking injuries.

An improved version of Goc implies there are clear and obvious similarities.

Goc is a smaller, faster player whose game is to be responsible and smart. Barkov is a puck possession player, noticably bigger frame and a much much different player with the puck in the offensize zone.

It isn't a comparison that works.

Trocheck shouldn't be thrust into a Top 6 position yet. Very few players can make that jump straight from the CHL, and Trocheck isn't that player. Excellent prospect, but will need seasoning. Perhaps later on in the year.

He most likely aggravated his groin, unless it's something new.

They are similar. Both rely on their smarts first, rather than physical tools. They both have excellent anticipation and positioning. They are much different centers than Matthias or Gomez, and are much more similar to eachother than they are to those two.

Goc isn't that fast, I don't know who you are watching. Both slow the game down to their level and play a heady style. Goc isn't that small either. 6'1" and over 200 lbs.

Again, Barkov is obviously a much more gifted offensive player than Goc. I wasn't implying that he was a carbon copy. Jeez man, why are you lecturing me on Barkov? Like I don't know about him...
