He was a rookie GM, mistakes will be inevitable. However, there are things that really don't make any sense to me.
His hardball negotiation tactic with PK was such a disappointment after he signed MaxPac to a pretty good deal and getting Prust.
Didn't really like the Bouillon or Armstrong signings but those are depth signings, so not the end of the world.

I'm still wondering what they saw in Drewiske exactly to go after him via trade. Re-signing both him and Bouillon got me scratching my head.
DD extension was foreseeable, I don't think we were going to let him walk or trade him, but the timing was off and the length of the deal is too much.

I'm more concerned that his alleged amazing experienced entourage couldn't prevent him from doing those mistakes.

As for Price vs Halak. I'm not sure. He signed Price to a big deal, and he's always said he believed him to be one of the best in the NHL. So, I don't agree with you.

All in all, he's done mistakes, no doubt. But it's not as horrible as you make it seem.
Mistakes? Yes. Questionnable moves? Yes. Nice moves? A few.

Personnaly, I'm more than willing to give him another full year, then another full off season, then another training camp + half a season. So until Christmas 2014. That seems ok to me to start looking back and consider the outcome of his moves. Then Molson must decide to go on or not.

That said, I do think that this year, the honeymoon is over. He must start responding to tougher questions, sort of.

The part that makes no sense about LeBlanc being cut is that Quailer and Holland are still there.

Well Quailer is injured and I don't think you can send injured players down. (Correct me if I am wrong)

Yeah, Quailer is hurt. And Holland was better overall last season than Leblanc, anyway, if that's part of the equation. Those guys will be down soon enough anyway, so it's no biggie.

Gotta be good news that he can already skate on the knee. When did he have surgery?

They said that the Habs advised Murray not to take part of the practice, so ut can't be that bad IMO. Pulled groins usually equal = easy summers, and that's what I don't like about the Murray injury.

Hum not sure I agree with this statement.

Plus if Murray lost some weight only in a few weeks in the off-season...

Line's at practice:

Bourque - Plekanec - Prust
Pacioretty - Desharnais - Briere
Galchenyuk - Eller - Gallagher
Moen - White - Blunden

Markov - Diaz
Gorges - Subban
Bouillon - Tinordi
Drewiske - Pateryn

Opening night lineup?

Gionta practicing with contact is great news, if only for the fact it pushes Blunden out of the prospective lineup. Damn I can't stand that player.

Blunden is a good, honest, hard-working player, he just doesn't have the skill-set to take a regular role in the NHL. You can't fault him for lack of effort, though. I wish more of our line-up had his motor, though definitely not his hands.

Why not Bournival instead of Blunden? Switch Moen to RW.

Ouch.. this probably one of the worst insult anyone could receive on the Habs board.

But it's a good option to avoid infractions.

I would rather they keep an offensive player like Thomas or St-Pierre to do spot duty in the top six instead of bumping up Prust and keeping Blunden...but yeah that's probably what our opening day lineup will look like. Likely with Murray in over Tinordi, if he's healthy.

While I have no doubts he's workng hard out there, he definitely the guy who works in the less intelligent way. Him forechecking is all about skating all around like a headless chicken. He has no anticipation. He has TERRIBLE balance. Most of his checks are after the puck left the stick of the guy he aggresses, and most of the time, he doesn't even hit him squarely. In the AHL, even if he's a veteran, and has size, he will never defend his teammates, and when he does, he looks like a fool. As you mentioned, he doesn't have any hands.

But you know what? I could forgive him all of that if he could just avoid hitting his own teammates. Every game, he is running around like a headless chicken out there. And several times, he'll be a nuisance to one of his teammates more than anything. Not only that, but he's also a terrible defensive player.

I hate him as a player. I wish to never see him in a Habs jersey again.

Murray should be in. Fingers crossed that Parros is ready for that extra entertainment for the home opener, you know he will fight Orr.

Blunden should GTFO. Move Prust down there and keep up Bournival until Gionta is ready, pleaaaaase.
