SOLI'S SHORTSIDE

- Last time we met the Jets, we had a Finn with a big game. Eyes will be on our newest Finn to make an impact as well and continue his beastly performance from last game.

- Pitlick, Davidson, Martindale, Abney, and Moroz will look to impress enough to stave off the next rounds of cuts.

- Mitch Moroz will be making his preseason debut coming off a knee injury. Oscar Klefbom returns to the lineup after being held out for precautionary reasons after an elbow to the head in the Bears/Rookies game.

- Jets apparently mean business with that lineup. They're without a win this preseason and would like to chalk one up on the board tonight. They're auditioning centers between Kane and Setoguchi and tonight will be Jokinen's go around. Scheifele had his game between the two wingers last time.

- Dan Tencer used Anthony Peluso as an example of the type of enforcer that the Oilers are looking for.

On the Oilers, I'm really looking for Linus Omark and Philip Larsen. Omark because if he shines offensively while not being a black hole defensively, could work his way into that top 6 discussion, and if he doesn't, he could work his way out, and Larsen because he's an unknown commodity in my books. Also, of course, eyes on Klefbom and Joensuu.

On the Jets, I'm looking forward to when Scheifele gets bumped up to the first line (he likely will, no matter what they officially say) and Jacob Trouba.

should be a good test

wish I could watch it, but I'll be working instead

hoping Klefbom has a good game and that Moroz makes an impact

Ughh.

I'd like to see Moroz and/or Martindale impress, but good luck with that boat anchor on their line.

I would like to see some meanness coming from Hamilton and Joensuu. They got the size and can play but do they posses the mental fortitude. Mitch Moroz needs to do his thing but likely is not going to help us this year. Abney seems destined to be a echl goon.

Wanted to see Belov, nothing else there really interests me. I'm sure Klefbom will still be rusty as heck and Larsen will be meh. Somewhat intrigued to see more Joensuu, and if Omark is going to do anything now would be a good time. Otherwise, this game will be something to glance over the box score for, not watch.

I guess I'm **** out of luck when it comes to watching the game tomorrow since the oilers supposedly can't broadcast it outside of the prairies. If this is the case why can't Gamecenter have it? I'm paying them for the whole season and if the NHL is going to **** block everyone outside of the local market they should at least have the damn courtesy to have it included in Gamecenter/Center Ice/etc. IMO.

Perhaps try the Jets site and see if their feed gets through at puck drop. It could be a region issue where the Jets have national media rights and beyond and the Oilers web team can only broadcast to their region.

Atleast, well. maybe.

Try downloading hola unblocker extension to your browser, it might work. I was able to watch a bit of the OTT-WPG game via the Jet's NHL webpage using it.

I guess time will tell, it still seems pretty damn lame IMO.

No doubt, there are fans all over the world and IMO the NHL needs to step their damn game up.

Thanks I may try that, however I might just say **** it and not waste my time if I can't watch it on the Jets site or on Gamecenter.

Watch them rack up like 6 points each and look like they have Sedin-esque chemistry!

I always thought they worked well together especially with paajarvi, but apparently everyone disagrees.

You are spot on, its only a couple of posters who trying to make that a truth by frequent posting.

That line created and made a lot of points, but they bled some goals.
2 years later, they play in a stronger oiler team, back then it was close to a pure Ahl roster.

So they will doing fine out there with Jonesy! For me , its not the ultimate fit, because both are mainly playmakers.

He already arrived in Edmonton yesterday.

You can see interviews with him on the Oilers website.

That Oilers third line looks interesting. Joensuu - Lander - Pitlick, two guys who can really forecheck there.

I really don't expect the Oilers to win this one, Jets are icing a pretty legit line up. I also hope Martindale gets more than a few minutes in this one, he looked good in Edmonton on Saturday night, I'd like to see him build on that.

Anybody know if Eakins is going to be on the bench for this one ?

Th 2nd goal the Jets scored in last years game was a microism of the season. Puck is passed to Petry, who has all kinds of time at his blueline, stops skating, and then he weakly coughs it up as soon as an opponent closes in on him, and it turns into an easy Jets goal. I hope Eakins shuts down that kind of mental garbage that's plagued this team for so long.
