Definitely worried about Hall getting destroyed up the middle..
I've been worried about that since they planned to move him.

I dont feel good about this AT ALL. These arent easy habits to break. I hope i am wrong...but i feel if he is going to centre in rea game action... he is going to get corked badly.

I'm a little more comfortable with him in the middle of the ice opposed to along the boards. It's not like he skates with his head down.

Yup. Its a dumb plan to try and force this player into a center role. He is succeeding as everyone had hoped on the wing, why fumble with that?

Except at least on the wing you don't have to worry about guys coming at you from the board side.
In the middle you can get your bell rung from 360 degrees.

He is always looking right? Never left or straight ahead.

He needs to develop better awareness period, if he can only see people coming at him from one side, he's going to get zoinked at LW eventually too.

I think Hall will look rusty at camp because he uses camp to get into shape.

By his own admission he's only been on ice for a grand total of 12 times this summer.

If we're going to try him at center, now's the time.

I like the idea of Hall at centre...he can get double shifted on the wing and play with nuge on the poerplay....etc...

I think at the very least he will become a better winger as a result of the tryout....and if he gets a concussion he gets a concussion....players get injured regardless of where they play.

That's not really an attitude I'm comfortable with taking. Concussions can easily sidetrack or even destroy a career.

Hall regularly carries the puck up the middle of the ice, on the PP he spends most of his time on the RW side of the ice. Hall played a few games last season and the one before at C I dont see what the fuss is over him playing the first month there this year.

Why are people acting like center isn't his natural position. That's what he grew up playing but got shifted because of depth in junior. It'll probably just take him a few games to get the feel of it back.

It is also the first days of camp where there are 50-60 players trying to work out the kinks and adjust to what ever kind of systems they are asked to play by the coaches.

Any interest in Joe Colborne if he can be had cheap? He can certainly help the C depth here especially with Nuge out. If he goes on waivers the Flames will most likely snag him.

Interesting that Marco Roy is getting a little bump, as he's playing third line right wing on Lander's line (team blue) with Joensuu - both of whom have a shot to make the team.

And no Replacement, I'm not suggesting Roy is going to make the team. It's just interesting that he's playing with 2 guys who have a legit shot. The other first year forwards are either not playing or are bunched together on the 4th line.

Nurse is paired with Ference.

Home town kid who's had some negative reviews since his draft year.

Not sure if he has enough "testosterone" to keep somebody like Burke happy.

His shoulder which is repaired. Not concussions.

Everyone knows that Hall is working on keeping his head up and tends to expose himself to big hits. I don't necessarily think that Hall at center is a bad idea but to brush off the extra risk of concussion as trivial seems too brazen to me.

Hall has never had any radar for hits or closing ice. Its why he runs right into the NZT wall at fullspeed more than anybody on this club with the possible exception of the departed Paajarvi.

Kind of odd that nobody in the org had the foresight to suggest that Hall might kill himself trying to be Center and being wide open for open ice hits all day. The guy has virtually no radar for incoming.

As per usual this club is interesting. Sometimes in all the wrong ways. We need Hall healthy, not in a MASH unit.

That was a handy Dandy rundown on 2nd day, thanks for that one.

Damn, did I ever go on the wrong day. Oilers never mentioned there would be fullout scrimmages on 2nd day. Consider yourself lucky. First day was dull. More huddling than skating. When they were practicing it was all stop and start and 20 secs of action in a row if you're lucky.

I think people are overblowing Halls awareness, he's not 18 anymore. His first few seasons it was a legitimate concern but I feel like he took a significant step in that sense last year. He barely took any big hits all season and he mentioned that he changed his play style to help with his awareness. It seems to have paid off.

I think he made a huge stride in that regard last season.

He had his head up all the time, wasn't playing nearly as reckless and I can't recall him really getting hit at all.
