Stanley Cup Favorite 2014 #1

Choice is simple. Who is your pick to win the cup this year. I'll include what I consider to be the top 10 teams, with an other option, if you choose other please specify who. Also include who you want added for the next poll.

I picked the Kings. with Quick as their goalie they have a huge advantage. Voynov has stepped up big, and their core is still in tact.

I know picking a repeat makes it a difficult choice, but I went with Chicago. They have the experience and the players, just about everyone's back, and some guys still have the potential to get better. If they can find someone to be a legitimate 2nd line centre, they'd basically have no holes.

Chicago. They just won the cup and kept most of their team together. No reason why they shouldn't be the favourites.

^^This. No one can say they were a fluke based on how well they played all season, and they have a good mix of veterans and youth.

I guess my only question is Crawford. How will he perform after getting the big deal?

But that's nitpicking. Chicago should be the prohibitive favorites.

If you are going to add in toronto and montreal to the poll options, you might as well have added in ottawa too.

I can add them into the next poll, but you're right I probably should have included them.

I am going to have to go with chicago. The only other teams you can make an argument for is boston, st.louis, penguins and maybe the kings.

I vote Chicago. Their team last year was beyond scary. God forbid they maintain that form.

Boston. I have a feeling Crawford has a lousy season.

Other

The sum of the other 20 teams' chances at winning the cup is higher than any single team's chances.

I voted Boston.

Think Hamilton will be better this year and Loui should be excellent to provide better winger depth up front.

The question is who is YOUR favorite. Yes the Hawks just won it but I personally consider things like a repeat... That just doesnt happen that often. There is no right answer here.

I don't like to pick a repeat - the whole "Stanley Cup hangover", whether real or not, lingers in my head. Instead, I picked the Penguins because you can never count out a team with that potent an offense.

I know I'll get some hate for not uncluding Chicago but I think its one of Boston, Pittsburgh or LA. I went with Pittsburgh.

It is extremely difficult to repeat and I just dont see CHI having a season as ideal as last season was for them.
