I will come down from Ottawa to watch one of them if only for nostalgia reasons. Even though the Big Owe was a horrible place to experience baseball I still have lots of great memories watching the 'Spos there. I'm glad we get at least one NL team.
I doubt very much this sells out. They're spring training games. For the sake of Montreal baseball fans, I really hope it does sell-out though.
I can see crowds in the 40-45k range, slightly less for the second game. I think they might even be banking on the some Torontonians making a wekeend of it in Montreal and upstate NY Mets fans to make the trek.
Also, I predict this is a precursor to the Jays holding a regular season weekend series at the BigO. Not because mlb wants to bring baseball to montreal but the Jays want to expand their reach. They have a market of 3.5 million people that gets all the national networks, more specifically sportsnet.
I don't care when this is; I'll be there. I have no idea what to expect for the attendance -- asking for ~45,000 for spring training baseball two nights in a row is a lot, but I believe we sold out a Raptors exhibition game so maybe. I hope there's a great crowd.
