I didn't know you could do that. I've been dog cussing auto skate backwards since whenever they started doing it.

You have to dodge a punch and counter with a pull/tug. It doesn't happen often but it's sort of like a flash knockout where the odd time you'll get it right and jersey the dude.

Won our first playoffs in EASHL.

Only thing that's annoyed me is when my player doesn't reach for or pick up the puck when you're really close to it. Other than that I'm really happy with this game.

This is why I've started on it as soon as possible. It's nearly impossible to catch up once you're that far behind.

There's a reason why I'm doing so good at this game right now. I was also good at NHL 12.

I usually play a bigger guy and set up in front of the net, it's so damn easy to score once the pass gets across. I didn't do as well as I usually do in 13 because everything got picked off and it was harder to score on a cross crease. This game... not so much.

I was a little more than a PPG in NHL 13, close to 3 and more than a GPG in 14.

Be A GM Mode is so streaky, not sure if I like it.

Started the season 34-14-3, ended the season 41-37-4 with no roster changes, lol.

I skipped NHL13 last year and understand they changed the 2-way contract thing from previous versions where you could send anyone up and down from the NHL/AHL if they have a 2-way contract.

I just did an offline Be A GM fantasy draft. I need to sign a bunch of guys for my AHL team, but am unsure who to sign that will be exempt from waivers. How do I know who is ok to sign?

Speaking of a fantasy draft, do the CPU Gms finally understand the value of prospects? Or are they all still available in free agency after the draft?

For half of last year and now this year, my friends and I haven't been able to find a EASHL playoff match. Ever. We play 2s with human goalies, and have no trouble finding normal matches. wtf is this ****?

So, I'm playing "live the life" as an enforcer, Kevin Westgarth, since I gather this game is enforcer centric now.

I have to say I'm really impressed. I don't feel like there are too many fights (maybe because it's the Hurricanes, and they typically don't have tons of fights). Out of 10 or so games, I've had maybe 4 fights where I've had to drop the gloves spontaneously because somebody ran Skinner (IDK why Westgarth gets put on the 2nd line. Although I did have to start over after getting waived on my 2nd game for talking crap in the media) Another couple I started off the faceoff when I learned to do that. I only managed to get one dance partner out of numerous attempts to provoke post-whistle. And 2 from me actually running a guy like a train (which I do like 20 times a game). So, on average 1 fight a game. Not too excessive. This is played on All-Star difficulty in hardcore simulation mode.

My only complaint thus far about the game is that they didn't fix the retarded line combinations that your team's coach comes up with when you play. Like dressing offensive guys for D when D-men get hurt instead of bringing guys up from the AHL or putting plugs on the 1st line if you are playing them.

This game blends the defensive properties/aspects of 12 with the offensive properties/aspects of 13

So they dumbed down defensemen and goalies? Seems like every year they take one step forward and then follow it up by taking two steps back.

Traded 34 year old, 84 overall Vrbata for 84 overall, 22 year old Scheifele and 84 overall, 22 year old Ryan Murray.

EA ruined Be a GM by making red star potential players have no trade value at all.

Just had a crazy ass game in EASHL Club with three game misconducts (two of them our players), and the 5 minute PP glitched so I had to kill it for another 5, ended up killing about a whole period of penalties in total.

The random sliding shots that go five-hole really need to be toned down. It makes sense if it is one or two but for it to happen every game every time is ridiculous.

I dunno. I did a fantasy draft and drafted nothing but prospects. Yeah I sucked for 2-3 years but talk about being unstoppable when they hit their potential

Are you serious? This is the best NHL soundtrack in recent memory, IMO. A thousand times better than that garbage last year, that's for sure.
