Forechecking plus the Dump and Chase

This thread will serve to accumulate various references to the origins of the Forechecking and / or the Dump and Chase offense:

February 1938, Tom Gorman portrays the tactic as a strategy to eliminate the defensemen standing-up at the blueline to bodycheck the forwards. Dumping the puck in reverses the hitting aspect. The forwards are in a position to hit the defensemen.

Ya. Game changer alrighty. Rather like on a Rugby Line on the advance with Wingers only allowed to pass backwards, last man possibly running out of time & space and about to be tackled will often punt short or long into the oppositions end zone allowing for his team to gather themselves & launch a full on assault in deep & attempt to regain possession. Generally only used in such instances though, a desperation move. Adopted in hockey tactically.
