Same here. I think just ONE, he would be following the impacts. Doesnt even have to be a regular.

My dad goes crazy when he knows a hockey player is Portuguese.
When he found out Adam Henrique was part portuguese, he couldn't wait to tell me.

As for the idea of Hugo Almeida on the Impacts. I'm not a fan of him, but I do think he would fit well in the Impact.
Not sure how I would feel about Postiga. Might prefer Almeida over him any with this team.

Here is the full article for those interested. It's in Italian but you can probably get the gist of it using Google translate.

If anyone wants me to clarify any part of it let me know.

Meh, not that happy with Di Vaio being back next year.

He's a good player but I'm not a fan of his attitude on the field.

That being said, I don't know if we could find better for only 1.9M

If MDV returns, I really hope Saputo signs another DP sniper to go along.

I'd rather Saputo sign a DP winger who can score some goals and cross the ball.

I'd rather find a DP who can play in Felipe's spot i.e as a playmaker/behind the striker. I dont think Felipe is good enough to be a starter, he basically cant play any other position and is just average.

For next year maybe bernardello won't be considered a DP if we apply part of his salary with allocation money. That would free another DP.

Wouldn't be opposed to this, but I'd prefer if we could get a DP winger and still use Felipe as a CAM. He is pretty effective as CAM... but only as CAM. He is pretty useless in any formation that doesn't use a real #10.

A striker is more technical and a winger is more physical. Another striker would add depth. When we play both strickers at the same time, it would also add diversity and scoring threats. It's easier to find a winger than a goal scorer.

It's official!

Quote:
MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact announced on Tuesday that the club will exercise its contract option on Designated Player Marco Di Vaio and that the Italian forward has agreed to return with the club in 2014.

“I am very pleased to be back with the Impact in 2014,” said Di Vaio. “After discussions with my family, it was clear that I wanted to keep playing and I am happy to be in Montreal for another season.”

“We are extremely pleased that Marco decided to stay with us,” declared Impact president Joey Saputo. “He is a player that has lived up to the expectations we had when we brought him in as our first ever Designated Player."

Very good news. But a lot of work still needs to be done in the off-season.

Indeed. Totti would be awsome ! We need to redo the rest of the team a little bit too.

Pirlo is not signed yet

I hope NDS and JS don't take shortcuts like last year and go out there to get real talent.

Not sure why my reaction should be,
at least we wont have pressure into finding a new striker, but not a fan of his attitude on field as well. Bet he will drop to non-DP next season by mid-year cuz a 38 yo DP Striker....

I'm glad that he's coming back as we won't have to wait for the Summer to see a new DP striker coming in.. in bad form. I hope he won't have any family issues though..

I wonder if Schallibaum will be back!?

Sorry Saku, that comment was directed to PMLTH and not to you. I was a little hot under the collar when I first read his comments...

I'm not against a DP midfielder, even though we have Bernardello allready. I just think it would be better to have two players who can actually score goals on the team.

His demeanor.

He seems to always blame everyone around him (on the field).

I understand he's probably better than those guys and used to be fed better balls (!), but this is the MLS and this is what the caliber is here... He should know, it's been 2 years.

Read post above this one...

He seems to think highly of himself, always blaming everyone; The opposite of Henry who is humble and helpful (on field ONLY of course). Just watch the game tonight and watch his reaction when someone else shoots. Now I know why he couldnt stay for a team for more than 3 season before his Bologna stint, but I have nothing against him PERSONALLY.
