This is winnable. Make it happen, or at least give the crowd something to cheer for.

Buffalo go.

Pittsburgh and Detroit are way out of our weight class, so I didn't expect much against those teams. I didn't hate their performance against Ottawa. These next two games against TBL and CBJ will tell me a bit more about where this team is.

Too many injuries
Too much inexperience
Low confidence

3-1 Lightning

Ehrhoff, Larsson, or Hodgson with the lone goal

My prediction: 4-3 Lightning

Last year we did not do to well against the Lightning so it will be interesting to see if that carries over into this season. I think Buffalo finds their scoring touch but they cannot match the lightning's offence. Also did anyone watch the Tampa Bay/Hawks game. They look to be no joke anymore.

Tampa got dominated and shouldn't have come out with 2 points.

my bad it was the Hurricanes who used the Sabres as door mats last season, still my prediction stands, 4-3 Lightning.

and yet they did. the fact that tampa's goaltending stood on their head and they were able to tie the hawks in regulation is still scary for a developing young roster in Buffalo.

3-0 Tampa
Stamkos( 2 )
Labrie (Troll goal)

Sabres just haven't seem engaged to play this year, i understand it is the third game, but it seems like the kids are trying but the vets are just coasting.

I think the vets show up, the kids continue to play with passion and we get in the winning column. Foligno has to be itching to play. 4 -3 Sabres

Buffalo go.
The fans were good at the Ottawa game. It was really exciting despite the scoreless tie. There were so many shots, chances, and big saves.

The problem is that those games drive coaches crazy. The fans love it but the coaches try changing it. If they played like they did against Ottawa it might actually be a fun season, but Rolston won't allow it. Its not a shot a Rolston though, no coach would allow it.

Hmm sound familiar?

But seriously, I think Tampa has much more talent on their team than we've amassed and without another spectacular performance from Miller, it's gonna be another "suffering" game.

Hopefully the return of Foligno provides some spark. Could you imagine a Girgensons-Foligno+whoever(Ott?!? - or even Tropp?) line? The physicality, the effort that line could bring.

Girgs on the first line!

And I just yesterday fixed my sleeping schedule, to not be awake at nights. I think it's time to fix it back.

3-0 Bolts. Their big guns get the goals, while the Swords popgun offense (think post-Mogilny with LaFontaine injured) fails to generate sustained o-zone pressure, let alone offense.

Oddly specific predictions: Power play goes 0-5, including one 5 on 3, as well as one major penalty, which will be divided into two segments cause Ott will take a stupid penalty in the middle of it. The Sabres will take 23 or fewer shots on goal, while giving up at least 37. They will also win 40% or less in faceoffs.

Wow. We've all seen that show before. Any way to parlay those things together and make a few bucks?
