He was grabbing his shoulder as he skated off. Considering that, also that he went through shoulder problems & he hit his shoulder when falling, I assume it was his shoulder.

It was 100% shoulder just like last season when he was beating out the icing call.

So, who's getting injured next game? Bouillon? Plekanec? Galchenyuk?

Paint me concerned about how little force it seemed was needed to concuss Briere. I saw contact with the shoulder and really expected Briere to get up unhurt from that.

I don't expect any good news about Prust. That's a major loss.. Wouldn't be surprised if he has to shut it down for the year if it's the same shoulder again. Terrible luck.

With Prust and Parros out for a long time I'd grab Staubitz off waivers today. Put him back on waivers when everyone is healthy (but we know that will never happen)

Pacioretty, Parros, Briere, Prust, Emelin, Drewiski, Murray, my goodness this team has terrific injury luck. The funny thing is the one's that happened in games are just plain and simple bad luck plays resulting in fluke injuries.

Worst part is we'll really never have a good understanding if this team is a real threat or not until probably January if no other major injuries happen and by then they have to gel and give management an idea of where they're at before the deadline. Could be another wasted season, but I'll hold optimism that some kids will step up and earn their spot in the NHL. It's really all we can hope for.

That Briere " concussion" looked fishy at best.

Personally it seems to me that Briere isn't taking his demotion like a man, and well, saw his way out. He saw that Nashville player the whole way, and then ballerina flopped to the ice.

Very strange. Don't like this guy anymore, he has fake "character".

Sometimes, that brains distribution process amongst people is fishy at best, too.

Well if there ever was a time for Galchenyuk to step up and take this team on his shoulders its now. Gallagher brings it every game. Eller seems to be on his game whenever he's with the two Gz.

It's a few games now that Galchenyuk has had golden opportunities to score, usually by driving the net, but just has not been able to convert. If the Habs are to win games, Galchenyuk will need to start burying pucks at a reasonably high rate.

It'll come. A couple years ago, Subban couldn't hit water in an ocean with his one-timer. Today he's very precise.

Galchenyuk's so good it's hard to remember just how young he is.

Well he's finally gonna be getting the most minutes on LW.

Not that he isn't doing a great job already with his 7 points in 8 games, but he should start burying them at a high rate soon. It'll be exciting to see.

I love Galchy but he's no Crosby, if you ask him to carry the team on his shoulders at 19, I think you'll be disappointed

Come on man. This ain't the guy's first concussion you know? After your first concussion, I believe it gets easier to suffer from another one after. Management took the risk to sign him, now they're getting burned by it.

How are they getting burnt by it? If he isn't producing, getting his cap space back via LTIR doesn't hurt the team at all.

LOL i'm posting a lot tonight through my 'sources'. but seriously i have friend of family who i saw tonight and does Stats for the NHL at the bell center and he was there Saturday night working the game, speaking to staff etc... the preliminary feeling is that because of briere's age and it being his 3rd concussion there is a real possibility he's done for good. Just speculation

If so, also because of his age, wouldn't we still be on the hook for his contract?

and just to clarify by 'on the hook' you mean counting against the cap right?

God that would be awful.
