I'm wondering why the coaching staff is not trying to put a forward on the blueline on the second PP unit. Bouillon does not belong there plain and simple. I'm thinking that Brière, Galchenyuk or Eller could be giving a tryout with Diaz.
Bouillon has good offensive instict and as good stick handling but he isn't a great PP player because is shot isn't great and doesn't have all the skills required to create chances consistently.
I like to see Briere on the point (he is the only player that fit the bill) he has a good shot, is a great playmker and able to create chances.
Having Briere on the point also able us to use a bigger fw like Eller, Galchenuck, Bourque or Pacioretty in to play down low.
I would like if we did this too, but not Plekanec. I didn't overly like using Plekanec in that role a few seasons ago. I think Briere could do well there as someone else said. It's worth a shot, I would think. Bouillon doesn't belong there.
Yeah, I prefer Bouillon to Gorges, but that's not saying much. Plekanec actually might not be a bad idea to revisit. It would open some room for our younger forwards to get more time on the PP with him back there. And he can't be worse than Bouillon/Gorges offensively. I would be hesitant to put Galchenyuk there as I think his game is on the half-wall and he should be developing that rather than adapting to the point this early in his career. Briere is another option on the point, although I thought he looked alright on the half-wall in the first game.
