Considering the Caps -y to end of name nickname method, I hope Carrick makes the team so they call him Connery. haha

Did anyone else see Wilson accidentally steamroll someone at the blueline while skating back? He just kinda bumped into him by accident and the other guy went rolling down to the ice.

Granted, the Blackhawk player was off-balance trying to stay on-side, but still.

The unfortunate thing with how cheap they're pinching with guys like Oleksy & Kundratek is I wouldn't be at all surprised if there are better D available on waivers in the weeks to come.
Yup, waiving Volpatti is the simple way in terms of making the cap work staying with a 22 player roster.

Not sure how much I like Fehr at C vs. how much Chimera-Ward's terrific chemistry will make any center between them look awesome.

Can we get Wolski/Hendricks/Ribeiro back if this is going to be our gameplan?

Well, McPhee got the best from them apparently. It's all downhill from here for all three perhaps ))

Oh well.

Ovechkin played quite well even though he was playing on cruise control.

Chimera 1st means "we're not taking this seriously"....lol

Good to see Backstrom in what looks like the best shape of his career. Glad he's getting serious about being a pro.

I got a chuckle out that. I remember GMGM last season in an interview talking about he got shootout players and the Caps not getting shootouts.

They were playing mainly against AHL D but hard not to like the beef line. If that stays intact curious how much TOI they'll earn and how that impacts other lines.
