Nate Thompson to Vancouver.

What would it take to get Nate Thompson to Vancouver from Tampa Bay?
IMO he would make a great 3rd line center between Higgins and Hansen especially if Schroeders injury is bad.

What is his value?

He just signed a 4 year contract and has been wearing an "A" in the preseason. Doubt he gets moved.

I think Tampa needs a offensive dman so maybe in a package deal is the only option?

No, we need a defensive quality defender. Barberio is just coming up as a offensive guy.

Thompson is a great 4C for us and I hsve no interest in trading him. He offers veteran leadership, has a great contract and has found his perfect place on the team.
I don't see anything that interests me from Vancouver that is anything close to Nate in terms of value. Neither Bieksa nor Edler are anywhere in reach with a deal involving Thompson.

And I have no interest in picks or any prospects Vancouver has. So I can't see any deal for Thompson. But I don't see one with any other team either.

Pretty much what other Tampa fans have said here. There isn't anything on Vancouver that would help us as much as Nate does that is considered fair value for Vancouver. Their really isn't any prospects that would help us from Vancouver, and picks really don't provide us much With our pool. Nice to see Nate getting the credit he deserves around here though.

I would like Frank Corrado, promising young RHD, for Thompson, but I know Van. fans are pretty high on Corrado.

Yeah Vancouver wouldn't touch that.

Corrado is going nowhere. Tanev will be traded before management even thinks about trading Corrado.

Would take a massive overpayment to be honest. His relative value to TB is greater than the leagues perceived value I would say.

Everyone has a price. I would guess it would be a defensive defencemen (NHL ready or promising prospect).

I'm in the boat that Nate wont be moved right now unless if its in a package for a top pairing Dman simply because he has so much value for our organization (I'm not saying Nate for Edler, but something like Nate ++ ect... for Edler). In the world after Vinny, a player like Nate will really help the transition for us all in Tampa.

Although, thank you for noticing Nate. Everyone scoffed at his contract extension last year, but he is a ridiculously versicle player that only makes an organization better.

Tanev straight up? Young RHD that would solidify our bottom 6 with Aulie/Barberio. Thompson is a great 4C who can step in at 3C but he's not irreplaceable. Pyatt can fill in just fine, finding NHL playing young RHD is much more important. Would also make Brewer expendable which is a good thing.

I'd love that deal but I doubt that Canucks would want to do it.
