This is one of the few matches I saw from Slovan this year so far. They look pretty dangerous in every attack. Hard to believe they had the worst offense before the game and only 9 goals.
The refereeing is really terrible. Seems some of the Slovan guys have a point. I don't know why but Slovan guys get called very easily while for example Dynamo can do what they want. Jalasvaara jumps into Bartovic with both legs first and checks him into the boards and when Bartovic tries to stand up he holds him with both his legs down to the ice but referees let the play continue and Dynamo almost scores... In another situation one of the Slovan forwards had a break away and a defender stopped him by clear holding but again no penalty...
Before this play, doctors were worried whether Szczechura's nose isn't broken and also Kuzmenkovs left the game bleeding. Obviously, neither the broadcast nor referees managed to capture what happened to them.
With regards to the game, it was a nice comeback, but you can't expect not to lose a goal while being half-asleep for the whole second part of the third period.
In fact, penalty on Upītis changed the fate of the game - Riga was the better team early in the period, but stopped playing while still on the powerplay.
Yeah, I know. It was funny. But that little break only seemed to have helped Dynamo. 2 goals now.
I'd rather say the break didn't stop the bleeding! Don't forget the previous Dynamo double and the timeout! Man, Slovan looked so well... and they finally started scoring... just to throw the game away with 4 goals against in less than 10 minutes.
Thanks for the video link. With this context its even a lot funnier.
I think it's quite interesting what kind of songs they play in arenas. There are huge differences from club to club. For example I just love the music at Dinamo Minsk games. They often play Sum 41, The Offspring etc a lot of pop punk/punk rock.
