I personally like retreating to the empty upper bowl bleachers if I can get away with it. Few kids there, and I can pretend to be a PBP commentator to my heart's content without anyone giving me an odd look. :p

Wow, Medicine Hat pulled it off.

Oil Kings/Tigers for the Eastern Conference Championship and Rockets/Winterhawks for the Western Conference Championship.

I'm predicting Oil Kings/Rockets in the final.

Just so everyone is aware, the rest of the Oil Kings games from here on out will be televised.

Seems I jumped the gun on Reinhart/Reinhart III.

Anyways, Medicine Hat is a solid club and should give us some good competition. Sanford, Cox and Valk have all had excellent playoffs offensively and Tommy Vanelli is a gem of an attacking blueliner. That said, I fully expect the Oil Kings to beat them in 5.

Portland/Kelowna should be an awesome series- the attrition in that one will undoubtedly weaken the victor for the championship round, which bodes well for the Kings should they play to expectations vs the Hat.

Should be fun!

5-0 Oil Kings just 5 min into the 2nd period. They're having their way with the Tigers tonight.

So. About that tone-setting Game 1.

Oil Kings take it 8-3.

Kelowna proves why they're ranked #1 in the CHL, coming back from being down 3-0 to take game 1 5-4. Great game, and the Prospera Place crowd makes Rexall look like a joke.

Wow, that was one heck of a game between Portland and Kelowna. Too bad game 2 isn't being televised.

Another sterling effort by the Oil Kings- the puck management looked a bit sloppy at times, but you can't argue with an 8-3 win.

Put me firmly in the pro-Pollock camp for the draft. Too bad the guy is likely to be gone by the time our 3rd rolls around.

Edgars Kulda continues to impress me. That top line of Kulda/Pollock/Lazar gives the opposition all kinds of trouble. I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on him in the 5th/6th/7th round.

Moroz was pretty invisible in game 1 for anyone wondering.

I hate Ottawa even more for getting Lazar. That kid is gonna be good.

Up 2-0 on the Hat now. Pretty good, slightly slow game.

Yep, Lazar is phenomenal. Even without the puck. Plenty of great chases and turned the puck back over to the OKs. And just following him around the ice - great positioning.

Nice to have seen some bounce back from The Hat. Made for a better game.

Beating same horse, but that attendance didn't look good. More on Friday I think. Maybee 4/20 is to blame? Didn't hear the attendance but the ends were empty. Say... 6K in the seats?

It's not for everyone, but it's crazy how this city fails to get behind a winner. We've come to identify with losing so much, we're indifferent to something better, it seems.

The OKs look so strong, but I still have a bad feeling when we go up against Portland or Kelowna. Those teams are very good. I just hope they're beaten up by the time the west champion goes against (we hope) us.

They were able to beat both in the regular season, but everything changes in the playoffs. Portland is so fast, it's ridiculous.

Weird how people like Lazar so much, but don't want to draft Bennett. Pretty similar players IMO.

Yup. Both Kelowna and Portland finished with more points than Edmonton.

OKs are different than most teams in the West because of their system play. There isn't another team in the WHL that has the combination of dedicated systems play and impressive roster talent that the OKs do. As a result, they have a solid shot at winning the WHL title once again.

Medicine Hat takes one as I figured they would. Hopefully the OK's can win tomorrow and end it in Edmonton.

OK's ran into a hot goalie tonight. They shouldn't be worried quite yet though unless they lose tomorrow night too.
