Smith another boneheaded play, -3 on the night. I'm glad Babcock is giving him ice time in a meaningless scrimmage, but if he does this in the regular season, he better get benched. Wings can't afford regular season losses.

Keep Lashoff up, atleast he can play defense.

Lashoff can't play defence. Smith was our #3 defenseman last year while getting no PP time and we were 5th in GA so he can't be doing everything wrong.

Lashoff is terrible, he has so many more things to work on than even Smith. Plays the worst positional defense in the entire system. If Smith infuriates you wait until the first defensive injury, the fact Lashoff is our seventh D scares the living bejesus out of me.

Lashoff gets lost and coughs the puck up in the defensive zone all the time.

I'm pretty sure Lashoff will be the #7. I think Smith will be better, this is the sunk cost of over ripeness. It was pretty obvious in his AHL rookie season that he was very good. The fact he wasn't getting consistent NHL time until last season is a factor in his slow development IMO.

Wings owe Howard thank you card and should all pitch in to buy him dinner every night for the entire season.

He's earned it. Just a question of whether he gets cheated out of it.

Yeah Gus and Tatar need big roles, have to be at least on the third line and the second PP unit.

Defense should start out as...

Kronwall-Ericsson
Kindl-Dekeyser
Smith-Quincey

It's too bad they won't be.

The signing of Cleary was so bad for so many reasons.

What happened on the goal right after that??? (4th goal of the game)
Big E lost his guy and he had an easy tip in. Ericsson was late and let his guy waltz in on goal.

If they leave Gus and Tatar together preferably with Andersson, there is a decent chance Tatar puts himself in the Calder discussion, he is going to score a lot of goals if they keep those two together.

Thanks a lot!!! I only got up for a second, and when I walked back I saw Howard heading off the ice.

Sammy and Bert are healthy. Then there's Cleary. Have to figure they are going to play 1 of those 3 on the third line with Tatar.

Stupid washed-up vets.

I thought he wasn't eligible due to his previous 9 game stint in 10-11

Yeah, but you have to think (hope) at some point even Babcock notices just how much chemistry Nyquist and Tatar have. Plus they make Andersson the most effective he can possibly be as well.

I'd be perfectly fine if Holland waives Emmerton.

And makes the Cleary signing even worse. The top 6 seems pretty set then we have bert, Sammy and Cleary as wingers for the bottom 6. And it's not just a roster problem it's a cap problem
