The actual comparable in the context of the seminal post is "career". You introduced the limited 25-28 year old NHL for other players window after another poster looked at Juneau's first four complete NHL seasons that happened to fall into the 25-28 year old window.

So in terms of career - how the player got to the 25-28 year window and the possible career arc afterwards, the totality of comparables plays a significant role.

My point was that when we talk about Juneau's scoring decline during his late 20s, it's not that much different than the fall-off we've seen from Vanek and Parise more recently. Significant drops, but not shocking. A typical late-peak slide looks a lot worse when it coincides with the scoring drop from 1993 to 1996.
