I believe the reported number was $2.9M, and that the Rangers would probably be willing to go to ~$3.2M. Is the holdout what pushed them to hit their absolute max of $3.2M? If so, good deal on Stepan's end, as he just gained an additional $600k (basically a 10% boost).

We may never know exactly how it worked out, but it ends like this--Stepan gets (I believe) the second largest bridge contract out there.

Duchene (3.5) and Giroux (3.75) each have 1 year left on their bridge deals, though Giroux's was 3 years rather than 2.

Wait is this going to be another Dubinsky situation where fans trash a player for everything because of a training camp holdout?

I hope not.

It's funny that the people that want to fire sather seem to always take Sather side.

Can we all agree that the holdout didn't accomplish much?

I don't know. Was it the impetus for the Rangers to go from $2.9M to $3.2M? If so, I'd argue that a 10% difference is pretty substantial. From the player's perspective, anyway.

Finally. Glad this is over. No harm done really, so long as he doesn't look lost to start the season. I hope AV reunites the Hag - Step - Nash line again when everyone is back.

Doubt it. He might make the trip to Vancouver tonight just to be with the team, and play tomorrow in Los Angeles.

By himself? He can play with the team in Las Vegas if he'd like.
