Paul Martin's absence from practice apparently is NOT injury-related and will not be a long-term issue.

Hopefully, if it's a family issue, it isn't too serious.

As for the above... I think FattyFatty TwoScoops being sent down is a foregone conclusion. I suspect that was the case before camp even started.

Apparently Das Kuhn got injured again as well? Doesn't seem like anything serious, but still...

Which is idiotic but I'm not going to get worked up over it.

Depres has been pretty uneven in camp and exhibitions, he hasn't really earned a spot. Not that Niskanen or Engelland have lit it up either.

I'd have to assume Bort is in for that 5-6 spot, so that would leave a competition for the final spot.

I hope that's not the opening night 4th-line. You couldn't take the available parts and mash them up in a worse manner. If DB is going to go with Glass and Adams as his 4th-line staples, a player like Jeffrey is useless with them.

Put Vokoun on LTIR and Despres to the AHL. Here's your D:

Scuds-Letang
Orpik-Martin
Nisky-Bortuzzo
Engelland

DB season-ending presser: paraphrasing but "Bennett top-6 forward, Despres top-4 d-man, MAF winning playoff games"

I think I see a trend developing. Jeff Zatkoff, you're own only hope.

To be honest, I don't have much of a problem with Bennett on the 3rd line. I guess it's because I expected it to happen. That said, I think he will be very effective in that role and can add scoring punch to the 3rd line. Bennett setting up Sutter and Kobasew banging in the crease area could make that a great depth scoring line. I'd obviously prefer Dupuis and Bennett switched but we all know that's not going to happen.

As Penguins fan, we said that literally 10 different times last year. We just accept it, because we know it's going to happen.

I try not to get frustrated... but seriously. I hate Dan Bylsma. Therrien lost his team, but Bylsma is a freaking idiot. Vitale has had a sensational preseason. He's great on the PK and even got some points! What the hell is going on?

I guess the only way to make the 4th line worse defensively was cut the speed and faceoff win% dramatically. Mission accomplished!

On the upside, Kobesew, right?

Kobasew will help up to a certain extend but I liked better D'Agostini at the time cause he is a better goal scorer and would have replaced the loss of Kennedy a little better. But Kobasew has been great in pre season and deserves his contract. But he's more of a grinder and hard worker, well see how it works out with Sutter and Bennett

Despres has outplayed Niskanen and Engelland. Period. And everybody has outplayed Adams and Glass. What does it matter though?

If it's this frustrating for us, just try and imagine how frustrating it is for Vitale and D'Agostini. The latter might not have had a great camp so far, but Adams/Glass have been absolutely terrible. Shero and Bylsma should be embarrassed to put them on the ice ahead of Vitale/D'Agostini. Embarrassed.

Zach Sill is sitting, again? Great...

Who needs a forward that can skate, hit, win faceoffs, fight, play well in his own zone, and has good puck control.
