Washington Post: Some tea party congressmen find signs of political backlash at home

Conservatives in some districts represented by Republicans are growing tired of the teabaggers and their hostage taking, so they're trying to organize primary campaigns for more moderate Republican challengers. Would be great to see this happen.

Mine (CA-31) was redistricted (not gerrymandered), and we wound up with a Tea Partier in 2012. Going to be a battleground district, and this probably doesn't help the GOP's case at all.

Detroit has been ran by democrats for 60 years, now msnbc calls it a libertarian paradise, and then compares it to Somalia as Anarchy, which Somalia has a government.

Gotta love the lame stream media.

*50 years, and yes, that's more than just a semantic correction.

Long Island middle school bans fun during recess.

"officials at Weber Middle School in Port Washington are worried that students are getting hurt during recess. Thus, they have instituted a ban on footballs, baseballs, lacrosse balls, or anything that might hurt someone on school grounds."

"Hard soccer balls have been banned, along with baseballs and lacrosse balls, rough games of tag, or cartwheels unless supervised by a coach."

Not really sure how that is political, but I'm sure "progressives" will get blamed for it somehow.

When I was a kid (and it really wasn't that long ago), evolution weeded out the stupid kids. Getting a lawn dart in the leg or falling out of a tree smartened up the dumb kids really quick. Now it's always someone else's fault when mom and dad's little angel does something stupid and hurts himself.

Dating yourself with the lawn dart reference.

But you are correct on the mindset of a growing parenting group.

The phrase "lame stream media" was made popular by the main stream media so I always laugh when people parrot that line.

FTFY

I doubt it's the parents putting pressure on the schools to make such a nutty decision. Smells like litigation to me.

In a town where the median family income is over $100K, it's probably both.

Helicopter parents that have the money to go to court.

Great idea. So if Obama wants to deport another 2 million, he can just go down to this rally and round em up.

who gets to have "there" day? Looks like your grasp of English is rather deficient, Misfit. Let's see your papers.

My degree is in engineering, not English.

Nice try though, you was able to deflect the fact that while vets and others are turned away, a march by illegals are allowed.

I think you're allowing the Republican talking points you take as fact (while you pretend to be independent) are confusing you.

No.

I am pointing out the hypocrisy, if you don't want to agree that is fine.

You confuse some things as being in agreement with republicans as being a republican, same when I agree when I agree with something a democrat agrees with I am called a moby.

But continue your talking point.

I find that even funnier than his loony views on taxation and size of government. The fact that he constantly trots out these right-wing strawmen that are making the usual rounds through Hannity, Limbaugh, The Blaze, Breitbart, etc. He seems surprisingly susceptible to the right-wing outrage of the day, for someone who professes to believe that both sides are the same.

Plus it took like 10 seconds of googling to find out why this was allowed to go forward.

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com...national-mall/

Quote:
"Under the same First Amendment rights that are allowing Honor Flight veterans and their families to visit the veterans memorials on the National Mall, other groups will be granted access to the park for First amendement activities," spokesman Michael Litterst said.
See? The WWII memorial was shut but then was quickly opened under the clause of First Amendment rights. The same rights apply to people who had already obtained a permit to gather on the National mall, and wish to petition the government for immigration reform. Not surprisingly, the usual tea bagging morons are outraged, despite the immigration rally being fully Constitutional, and those morons professing to hold the Constitution in such high regard. And the GOP wonders why Hispanics don't vote for them.

Oh, like that permit they gave the bikers for the ride on 9/11? (Have friends that rode in it)

It's an open air memorial, it does not require anyone there, it costs more to "shut it down".

But continue your talking points.

Yes, "talking points" says the guy who trots out GOP talking points seemingly on a daily basis.

I don't even know what the bike thing is, so please enlighten us.

As for your degree being in engineering, are you talking about your middle school degree? Because I assume that by the end of 8th grade, if not much earlier, I was quite knowledgable regarding the difference between "there" and "their." Perhaps the deficiency is not in your lack of secondary English education (FYI, I studied math, economics and meteorology, not English) but in your lack of intelligence.
