Tuel spent the whole offseason with the team, Lewis joined the last week of preseason

They are afraid to lose Tuel, who they view as a long-term development QB. They are not afraid to lose Thad Lewis, who is not developing.

Tuel is terrible. Refuses to throw it farther then 7 yards.

But my god we are totally screwed. Manuel needs to stop being the NfL version of Tim Connolly.

Tuel had a pretty nice throw for about 25 yards that was dropped by graham.

Are they going with Lewis because he's closer to Manuel athletically and is better at throwing on the run? So maybe they don't have to change the offense as dramatically to fit in Lewis than to fit in Tuel?

More than likely Marrone and Hackett are simply reacting to Tuel's performance in Cleveland, so I'm probably reaching.

Thats what I'm thinking, Thad just looks like he'll adapt better to a read option offense than Tuel, who really is about the last guy I'd want running my read option.

Also, Matt Flynn released from Oakland. Does OBD give him a ring, or did he ruin his reputation in Oakland?

Hey mgeise, I just realized I've already been talking with you about this exact stuff on facebook I'm Luke

I was thinking they don't really trust Lewis, Tuel, or any free agent QB with throwing the football 40+ times a game, so they would rather have a guy who can tuck and run instead of forcing a difficult throw, which is why they worked out guys like Pat White and Dennis Dixon. I'm guessing we're going to see a lot more read option in the coming weeks.

Run, run, run. This could actually end up being really beneficial, if it forces us to focus on the run and throw second, extending drives, giving our defense breaks. Thats how to manage and grind out games. We've got pretty much the best RB depth in the league (arguably, whatever), lets keep using it, see where it takes us with an improved defense.

I would take a flier o Flynn. May have been one game but he's 10x better than anything we got(INCLUDING EJ)

Holy negativity. The guy had one good game and hasn't done anything since, despite two teams paying him to start. There's a reason he's available.

Buffalo Bills ‏@buffalobills
#Bills claim OL Antoine McClain, release OL Sam Young

This is one way to get more guard help

That's absolutely absurd. He's a rookie QB adapting to the pro game, including when and how to run/get down. I think he has that figured out now. What a silly comparison.

Seattle wasn't expecting to be good so they let Wilson have a go. No idea about Oakland but they have a soft spot for Pryor being Al Davis last ever pick

Pryor's also looked measurably better running the same offense against tougher opponents

Thanks for that, it's been a terrible weekend for football and I needed a laugh.

And **** the Jets. Can't wait for the sports world to be all over Geno's dick for the next week when the only person responsible for that Jets win is Mike Smith and his Bills-esque secondary (not that Geno had a bad game)

Geno didn't do anything that EJ hasn't done or can't do. But this was Monday night, on ESPN, and he plays for the Jets, so of course it's a big deal.

Pretty sure EJ hasn't thrown 3 TDs in a game yet. But I digress.

Actually FTR Flynn had 2 games with GB. He also started a game in December 2010 @ NE on SNF Football and had a solid game. They lost like 34-31.

While true, before this year he had shown nothing to indicate this would transpire.

I'd prefer an older guy. David Carr maybe. Somebody who can manage a game effectively. I think a healthy defense is healthy enough to keep the Bills in games, just need someone not to lose them.
