Ode to Jeff Tyni

I wanted the Blues to win the game, but man part of me was pulling for a scenario where Elliott got a bad case of gas and Jeff Tyni got to come in and be the hero against his own team. I hope the Blues win the Cup and find a way to get this guy's name on there.

(Really I was hoping there was some way Darren Pang would suit up, but no dice.)

Anyone going to buy a #60 Tyni jersey. In all seriousness, I may do that. It would probably be the only one in the world besides his, and it kind of sends a message about the aspirations of the common man. This dude is my new hero.

Doesn't this scenario typically happen whenever a starting goalie gets traded? Buffalo had to use someone from their camera crew.

You don't think its cool to think ANYONE could be a back-up goalie in the NHL all of a sudden, under these circumstances. I mean, I kind of feel like I might have had a chance to wear the Bluenote and sit on the bench if I'd been there. To me this is one of the coolest things that happens in all of professional sports.

O, I agree, It would have been awesome to see, but it happens more often than people realize.

It is basically like yelling into the stands "can anyone play goalie?"

Apparently he tried to walk on in college and didn't make the team, lol.

Was surprised the Ducks' usual EBUG, Rob Laurie, didn't get the call. He's backed up for the Ducks numerous times and the Canucks once, as well.

I think it would be an awesome memory to look back on but at the time it was happening I would be pretty terrified to get in there. Sure my competitiveness would kick in and make me think I could compete but reality would set in pretty quick if I was forced into action. Even if it wasn't the team I would root for I would feel pretty ****** if they had to rely on me in any way to compete in a game.

Although...under the slim chance any western conference GM might see this I am available for any and all games against the Kings. I think we all know our mutual problem. Just throwing that out there.
