That's a little surprising. Great for him though, hope he does well. He's a project goaltender with size , they must see potential.

LOL. Not trying to be a know-it-all, just saw Russo tweeted that. Plus, I always find it interesting. For instance, Cody Kunyk who signed with Tampa is signed for this season, so he's actually an RFA this summer!

After going unclaimed in an Entry Draft, a North American player, under the age of 20 is eligible for a SPC under CBA sections 8.9(b)(ii) and 10(d)(i)
however upon double checking and brushing up on my CBA, it seems I forgot a window of opportunity this is limited to.

The SPC must be "signed and registered with the League between the conclusion of the Entry Draft and commencement of the Major Juniors season... [or] the commencement of the NHL Season" (CBA 8.9(b)(ii))

I know nothing of the AHL CBA, so he may be able to sign there on an ATO, but it looks like he cannot sign an ELC with an NHL team until going through the draft again. So he is not too young to sign an ELC, and not too young to sign an ELC as a free agent but he did miss this year's opportunity to do so, and is again/still draft eligible.
If he cannot be signed to an ELC, that means he is eligibility for the draft which in retrospect means he IS TOO YOUNG.

Avs sign 7th rounder Luke Moffatt (Michigan) to an Amateur try-out with Lake Erie.

People his age and younger are already signed to ELCs. He is not too young for one.
Just where he is playing, and as a free agent, there is only a small window where the NHL will allow him to sign that ELC.

Well done, Chicago.

I've read that the Kings and Oilers are both looking at UFA college defencemen. For LA, I'll suggest Folin. No idea on Edmonton, though.

I think Folin was a lock for Vancouver before the fiasco of a season that might suggest he's not their type of guy anymore. Not sure he's a Kings type D either. I'd look at the Rangers and Detroit. Still think Morrison signs with the Oilers.

The Ducks have signed defenseman Josh Manson to a two-year entry-level contract. Per club policy, no financial terms of the deal were disclosed.

Manson, 22 (10/7/91), played three seasons for Northeastern University (Hockey East) from 2011-14, recording 6-15=21 points with 158 penalty minutes (PIM) in 99 career games. Selected in the sixth round (160th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Manson was recently named a 2013-14 Hockey East Second Team All-Star and the Best Defensive Defenseman after captaining Northeastern to a 19-14-4 record this season.

I haven't heard anything, really, about college free agents, save for what I mentioned before about the Oilers and Kings.
