I'm not impressed, to be honest.

Now, Eichel on the other hand... already looks better than everyone there.

That's the ****** part about this years draft, out of top 6, not a lot of players who project to be top line forwards. Which is why I'd try to trade at least 1 of the picks + prospect(s) for a top 4 Dmen (RH or LH).

That would be ideal

I don't think this was posted yet, so here's Craig Button's final list.

http://www.tsn.ca/draftcentre/feature/?id=49649

Interesting picks include Sanheim at 8 and Point at 17.

Sanheim's jump was pretty crazy. Might be a bit of a pipe dream with the NYR pick now, since there's probably at least one team that saw what Button sees.

Here is the ISS Final Rankings

http://www.isshockey.com/iss-release...l-draft-guide/

Sanheim ranked 30th, but also no Honka in the top 30. They also have McKeown at 23 and Craig Button has him at 51, so 2 very different opinions. This might be a hard draft to predict.

Button has Virtanen at 43. Some of his rankings are way off compared to others. We should be able to get one of Sanheim/Honka/McKoewn at 28 and we can always pick one at 19 if they're considered BPA at that pick, maybe we can get two and increase the chances one will become a top 4 player.

Button's list is just weird overall. Someone on the prospects board said that a guy who hadn't even played since he last updated the list rose 7 spots

I have never seen so many mock drafts differ by such a wide margin that I can ever recall. Primarily is a couple guys move in nhl drafts drop move up but these things are all over the entire map. Guys at 41 go in top 10 guys at six go 30th guys in second round but in top 15? Wth. It makes no sense and basically murray and every other head scout out there has work cut out this year

They need to get it right and basically all I can see is everyone is so close to each other that you find a guy you love and you go get him lol. Is insane see drafts with 2 guys defenders in top 30 and see drafts with 8 guys? Couple of the 8 never heard of before now haha.

Is gonna be fun glad have so much faith in our system otherwise would be on pins and needles at the end of the month this is sure madness!!

He does hate Virtanen, but he just got Shoulder Surgery, so chances are he might slip in the draft, if teams are concerned. His best attribute is probably his shot. Not sure but I think it was Jeff O'neill who said that after shoulder surgery he never got his shot back...

Looking at Button's list, I wouldn't be opposed to a Fiala and one of Mckeown/Jacobs/Pettersson for our 2 first picks.

I see Marcus Pettersson at 29, 6'4 167. Must look like a matchstick.

Id say we draft Barbashev at 19 and use the Rangers pick in a trade

Don't think he'll be there at 19. We need to come away with at least one of Sanheim/McKoewn/Honka so if we go with a forward at 19, I wouldn't want to trade the Rangers 1st.

Habs prospect and Florida native Brady Vail has gone unsigned and is re-entering the draft. Would he be worth a look?

Not worth drafting but he may go undrafted so we can sign him as a UFA. Syracuse isn't in need of anymore LW and not sure if he can play the right so just doesn't seem like a great fit. Possibly an AHL deal and he starts for the Everblades, not sure but he may become the first ever Florida born player to play for the lightning organization.

I remember how Montreal fans were hyping him just a few months after the draft just like they do with almost everyone and all of a sudden they get worse and worse and are not even worth signing anymore.

Guys i just noticed that Murray has yet to draft a player that is not worth signing in 3 full drafts he ran !!!! I mean that is pretty crazy. Sure we most likely don't gonna sign Gusev, but it's not because he is not good enough for a contract.
The first one that will be really interesting is Saku Salminen, however he was injured all season long and has plenty of time to impress us. And he is a 7th rounder after all.

Speaking of Gusev, I'd actually really like to see what he can do with some consistent ice time instead of playing 5 minutes a night. Maybe next season.

He looks the kind of player Murray loves to grab late in the draft. Good defensive, 2-way center with some talent for creating offense.

As for Gusev, I doubt he ever crosses the pond but in the KHL whenever he was getting ~12 minutes a night last season I believe he was good for a point every other game.

The scatter on this draft is dumbfounding. It will be fun to see how we draft, cause every player in the first round could be a bust haha.

http://www.defendingbigd.com/2014/6/...be-random-yall

I like this preview the most so far. It has us picking up Honka and Dougherty, which would make me happy. That would be a big boost to our somewhat lackluster D pool right now.

I hope we can get a better skater than dougherty myself. I am not that high on him. He seems smart though from the little ive heard seen good first pass decent offensively but skating is not that awesome for a first rounder imho.
