I unfortunately do not get to see very much of Colorado but have ben impressed with this guys production in the last few years. How good is his play besides putting up points and what is his value?

He was one of our two best players last year. I don't see any point in trading him. Top pairing defense would need to be coming back.

From what I saw of him with the Isles, he is a slippery player, he seems to find ways getting into the right spots, he's not all shy of the gritty areas as well. The rest is just him finally putting it all together, I know some hate that type of answer, but in his case, it really is. He found the right situation to boost his confidence and he started to believe in himself a little more, to put up that kind of production on two teams, kind of lessens the whole "he fluked out, right team and situation" crap.

Not bad for a 9th round pick that bounced around in the AHL for a few years.

id like to have him back on long island for a year or two.

his first year on the island was pretty funny ( or angering ) to watch. he couldnt keep his skates under him. and when ( if ) he did, he would crash into an islanders player and knock him off the puck. god forbid he hit the other teams players like he hit his teammates.

he turned into a real nice goal scorer though. i was mad as hell when he left long island.

Sakic was the guy who targeted Parenteau 2 years ago. Even if he has a so so year he is valued pretty high in Colorado.

My fantasy team needs him to play on one of the top 2 lines... don't trade him!

Solid underrated player. 60 points or so fair amount of PIMs so solid for fantasy leagues too. I always take him late because he is a quality under the radar player same in fantasy as in reality

I think with the chemistry he showed with Duchene last year, he is more valuable to the Avs then any either team.

What are you talking about? He's not a goal scorer, he's a playmaker.

His 18 goals led the Avs last year. Just because someone is dubbed a playmaker doesn't mean they can't score goals.

I didn't say he couldn't score goals....He's much more of a playmaker than a goal scorer.

His value is tough to gauge. He may be on our 3rd line this year with MacKinnon, but both Roy and Sakic seem to really like him. He also scored a lot last year, some fluky goals, but if he were with Duchy during 82 games he could have hit 30 goals.

I'd assume unless a team is offering a top pairing defender in a trade, he's not for sale. Since we're weak on the right wing as it is.

I really appreciate all the responses.

In a managerial league somewhat like Football Manager except against actual people who are GM's I was offered Parenteau + a lottery pick (who turned out to be Elias Lindholm) for Seguin.

Having a real hard time deciding on if I should do it or not.

That's a tough offer...... If this is a keeper league than do it. if its not I would not do it.

I'd love to bring him back to Long Island. I think JT would be happy about it too.

He's such a solid player, any team would be lucky to have him. It'd probably cost them a high draft pick and a top 4 defenseman.

Yeah Avs aren't interested in trading him at all. Only thing that would interest Avs is a top pairing LHD.

his value to the Avs is higher than market value, so it would take an overpayment.

He's overrated because everyone thinks he's an AHL bum that got lucky playing with JT. He's actually a top-6 forward on most teams.

PA wasn't all that great in his first season on LI. He had some good tools, but he drew the ire of a lot of Isles fans for being on the 1st line. His second season, something clicked for him because he made a lot of improvements to his game. I haven't seen him play much on Colorado, but it looks like he's still doing well.

He has shown that he can be a good complementary winger for a star center so he's in a great situation with the Avs, there should be no reason to move him.

Yeah, it's a keeper league. It's very tempting... Lindholm could turn out to be quite a gem and it's possible Parenteau isn't far behind Seguin in production for the next few years.
