Oilers - Blues

Not a Oiler fans by any stretch of the imagination, but would like to see them have some success. Second favourite team is the Blues so I figured I'd try a deal that helps both teams.

Edmonton gets:

Oshie
Steen
Shattenkirk

Blues get:

Yakupov
Petry
Klefbom

Value is heavily in favour of the Blues. At the same time, I don't see why the Blues would do it as they're probably going to be contenders right now. This would be trading current studs for future potential.

God awful for us. If we didn't think Perron fit into our system, why would we want Yakupov?

Not at all in favor of the Blues you seem to be overrating Nail or underrating the Blues players. The Blues are giving up the best players in the deal.

Meh, whatever. Oilers lose their best Dman, top defensive prospect AND a former 1st overall who led their team in goals in his rookie season. The GM who makes this trade in Edmonton is getting their house burnt down unless those blues turn out to be the second coming of Christ.

Oshie and Steen are on STL's top line and both are producing.. Shattenkirk is pretty much untouchable..
Not sure why a team on a roll would make such a move..

Yak is not a Hitchcock player..

Easy pass by STL and Im an Oilers fan

Perron is a secondary scorer and will never be more than that.

Yakupov has legit NHL superstar potential.

Not even close to the same player.

Petry is your best dman?

Blues get hosed on this deal. Shattenkirk is better than Petry. Steen and Oshie are top 6 forwards RIGHT NOW while Yakupov could be a first liner one day.

Really, really terrible deal for the Blues.

Steen is our best forward, along with Backes, and he and Oshie fit the Blues style of play absolutely perfectly. There is a slight, slight chance that one could be moved in the next year or 2, there is no chance they would both be moved.

There is no doubt the Blues would be a much weaker team after this deal.

I think Nail is worth more than any of the players in the deal. Perhaps I'm overrating him, but he's a former 1st overall pick who showed insane goal scoring prowess at the end of last season.

No chance. The Blues aren't going to completely change the way they play for Yakupov.

Eh, that just screams drunken golf cart accident to Blues fans. Easy pass.

In terms of playing a complete team game, Yakupov would be a disaster here.

Then you'll be pleased to know Yakupov is Muslim and doesn't drink at all. So the odds of him being in a drunken golf cart accident are pretty minimal, unless he's paired with EJ

Don't see either team doing this and it doesn't work from a salary-cap POV either.

Terrible trade for the Blues. I like Yakupov, but this is ridiculous, MacT would jump on that in an instant.

STL would never touch this because it brutal for them, besides it's become clear we need a goalie who can stop a beachball before we look at anything else.

If someone on the oilers gets benched 2 games in a row for not wanting to forecheck and backcheck, why on Earth would hitch or army even consider him?

This is terrible for the Blues.

We don't want Petry at the expense of Shattenkirk, and trading two of our best two-way forwards for Yakupov isn't smart right now.

That's horrible. We aren't giving up two of our top three two way forwards for an offensive winger that doesn't play defense. I like Klefbom but he isn't worth hurting our two way forward game to acquire. Plus Shattenkirk is better than Petry.
