Victor Arvidsson -Nash 112 Overall (Signed ELC)

Diminutive but talented Swedish overager

Wonder if we will see him in the AHL next year?

put up 40 pts in 50 games in SHL last season

This could be the steal of the draft. Passed over twice(I'm guessing a character issue) but with top six, maybe even top three upside. Should hopefully be in Milwaukee this year, at age 21.

A slam dunk gamble in round 4.

Someone posted highlights in the main draft thread and I was blown away. Highlights do that, of course, but great speed and a great shot by the looks of things. He uses the fake shot a lot, which I personally love. He celebrated crazily though. Yakupov-esque in that regard.

A lot of main boards people are saying we're going great and taking a lot of the sleepers they wanted their teams to get. This guy is high on those lists.

More like size issue, considering he's only 5'9 and a bit of a late bloomer. Has really high potential and is low risk in the 4th round. Also team-mate with Johan Alm which preds recently signed.

If this guy was an inch taller he would have been taken years ago in a higher round. Ridiculous how much teams focus on size. He was one of the best players in the SHL. You should give him a go straight away in the NHL.

Love this pick. What's his contract status next season? I'd like to see him in MIL as soon as possible. Same goes for Ćberg.

It seems he's staying in Skellefteć next season accoring to preds scout Lucas Berman in an interview on hockeysverige.se. I tihnk it will be good for him, get an even bigger role and develop further, it's not like the preds need to rush him to NA or anything.

Aberg will be a Milwaukee Admiral this year, wouldn't be surprised if he got a little taste of the big league if we face an injury in our top 9. I've got high hopes for him, and I normally keep it realistic with prospects and stay patient but him and Leipsic are driving me up a wall I WANT THEM NOW

He was Junior of the year in the SHL in the 2012/2013 season. Practically decided 2 of the 4 SHL-final games in 2013, taking Skelleftea AIK to their first championship in 35 years. Was together with the goalie and team captain chosen for the annual "gold-picture".

2014 was an even better season for him. 9th place in regular season scoring and 3rd in the playoffs. He has shown he can play against men despite his size and he has continued to produce more than other swedish prospects his age. People have been saying for years now how it's crazy he hasn't been drafted yet and when he finally was even people who played against him showed how happy they were for him, like:

One last thing. Huge congrats to Viktor Arvidsson and Nashville. Love seeing worthy guys finally get good things happening for them.https://twitter.com/figge_22/status/482995523184754688

(Note: this vid was from BEFORE the 2014 season where he scored 56 points in 64 games.)

And sure, he celebrates a lot but people love that in sweden. He's angry and disappointed when losing and happy as hell when winning.
He likes to celebrate by "shooting and arrow", saluting the crowd and for the big goals he often kiss/show off the crest on the jersey. That together with his speedy and creative style of play makes him a huge fan favorite and if he breaks into Nashville I'm confident he'll be a favorite for you guys too.

And yes, he's lethal on the breakaway! Some of my favorites:

http://www.skellefteaaik.se/video/st...46334/ttvideo/
http://www.skellefteaaik.se/video/st...65084/ttvideo/

(That said, I really hope he stays another year because the NHL and KHL has completely drained my Skellefteć AIK - Arvidsson is the only top player left so he'd take on a big leader role.)

Far from it. There is not a single person to have anything bad to say about Viktor, very talented and hardworking kid. I have been very very surprised that he hasnt been picked yet. Lots of inferior players from the SHL/Allsvenskan has been picked during this period. Most definately a size issue.

Man, you should sign Brian Rolston. Fake slappers like crazy, and speed to burn.

No, honestly, I'd have loved if the Wild had drafted Arvidsson, but I think we learned our lesson with Daniel Gunnarsson when it comes to picking over-aged Euro kids. They've got a habit of not coming to America.

Look closely at the blade and the puck.
Is he actually pressing the puck to the ice during the spin? Or is it something wrong with my eyes...

Yes he is using the heel of the stick to move the puck without losing control of it

a friend, who was with me at the prospects game yesterday, was in the security line at the airport this morning and texted me that he spoke with Arvidsson, who said "Going home to play in SEL, then, as he said, hoping to be here next year for sure. He will be back for training camp."

Think he'll be back sooner than you expect... His gf has posted on Facebook that they're moving and selling all their furniture, doubt they're just moving to a new place in Skellefteć...

Some are saying that she has graduated from school in Umeć and is moving to him in Skellefteć. I doubt it though.
