As Doc has said, "George Washington has tears in his eyes coming out of Chico's wallet."

What I meant really was Devane and some sort of pick for Fayne. Devane is a young tough guy that can fight with the Heavyweights. This would clear up a d spot and send Devane to the minors. If we trade a d-man it won't be for a playing forward, kind of like the Tallinder trade for Boychuk.

I will not be surprised if Jagr is scratched tonight, as a precaution.
And also that we will join Dallas as the only teams not to sellout their building in their home opener.

Don't we always sell out opening night though?

Why wouldn't we sell out our home opener? It's a Friday night game against a local rival and its the FREAKING HOME OPENER!

He played it correctly -

You can't really overthink this one. It's Sidney Crosby with the puck on his stick, and I think he surprised Cory with his release -

If you're Cory: if you've played with Harrold forever and trust him implicitly then maybe you aren't so deep in your net and you leave the backdoor open to play the shot and come out aggressively.

Still, Sid put it where it needed to be.

I don't want to start a war here but I'm honestly concern about the play of our potential superstar, Adam Larsson. The kid is still very raw, I know that but there's just something in his game that I don't like. It might be his lack of "emotion" or the fact that he doesn't seem to have a care in the world when someone is on his back, who's about to engage in a board battle for a lose puck or when moving someone in front of the net.

There has to come a time where all those things need to be rectified. Again, he's still very raw but there's other blueliners out there, with the same age, who are showing way more "confidence" and natural skill then our previous #5 overall pick.

To me, we should've seen some type of progression in his game but I feel like I've been watching the same player for the past 3 years now and that's definitely something that concerns me.
This exactly.

I've been wondering when we are going to see Larsson start to show signs of brilliance and here we are, 3 years after his draft date, and he still seems to be the same exact player.

You're right in that he's raw and still has a lot to learn, but you're also right to be a little bit worried about him. After what he's shown so far, how can you not be?

Nabokov BLOWS. I watched him sink the Sharks in the 2010 WCF. If not for him they probably get through each round even faster. They also wouldn't have gotten swept by the Blackhawks. He sunk them that year, and that's why they didn't take him back. You can see the Islanders only had him as a worst case scenario cause they didn't sign him until UFA market opened.

If we make this corpse look better than MAF last night, shame on us. Nabokov only beat us twice in 10 years before he came to the Islanders. I know we only played him once-twice a year, but still.

People shouldn't worry about Gionta being in the lineup if he's filling his role perfectly and nobody on the 1st/2nd lines are producing

The only good line, however, has been the 3rd line. Remember people said that Loktionov wouldn't be on the lineup? LOL. Him, Ryder, and Brunner were the only guys doing anything last night.

I'd take Nabakov over many goalies in the league today, especially Fleury. There's a reason why the playoffs made it to the playoffs last year.

This offense is missing a leader who can break the game open and turn things around offensively. Parise was that guy, so was Kovalchuk, now they're both gone.

Elias needs to step up.

Are you kidding me? What other goalies is Nabokov better than? A bunch of backups? Nabokov hasn't been that good for years now. He's been pretty average ever since that awesome run the Sharks had in 2004. He even lost the starting job one year to frickin Toskala.

Nabokov is probably the worst starter in the Metro.

EDIT- Okay the Flyers goalies are worse. I forgot them for a second!

An early powerplay is needed and a goal obviously. I think if that happens they should be good and might realize they can score goals.

I hope so!

Would like to cheer Jagr on in his Devils home debut and too many tix were still available this morning on the TM map.
A big walkup sale is needed to sellout.
