I have no doubt Pitt will be stiff competition, but no Neal or Letang certainly is a big loss for them. We NEED to do our best to shut down or limit the Crosby line, and stay out of the penalty box to have any chance.

3-2 Pens

Crosby x2, Jokinen
Vanek, Pysyk

As long as the guys get on the scoresheet a few times I'll be happy.

This will be ugly if they keep allowing all these shots. 7-3 Pens.

I have Vanek and Hodgson in fantasy, I need them to do me some justice as my weekly match-up ends even tho I'm winning by 15 points thanks to P.A Parenteau and a few other supporting cast.

Vanek and Hodgson non existant tho.. if Hodgson wants to have that break out season of 60 points like Jame says hes capable of doing than he better start earning me points.

and tonight is that night! I feel it.

It doesn't get easier......

Tonight we will see how our young defensive corps handles a veteran skilled offensive team. With the back up (Mr. 5 Hole) goalie in net. Bad game to be missing Tallinder too. It could get ugly.

Sabre fwds cannot sit back and play a passive 1-2-2 and allow the Pens to own the NZ (stretch the ice) and give them all kinds of time and space like happened with Detroit. Sabres are going to have to pressure Pittsburg's D and force them to rush their passes or cough up the puck and then backcheck and harass the Pens fwds all the way back into our own zone. (Any chance of cloning Girgs on short notice??)

If we are lucky, the MAF that sucked in last years playoffs shows up for this outing.

That's my RX for success..... play like banshees - just on the edge but in control. However, I'm concerned whether the patient is currently strong enough to benefit from the needed medicine (Ron Ron's take baby steps comment).

Hope to be proven wrong however.......

I thought Tallinder's looked fairly strong for us as preseason went on and through the first two games, but I don't see missing him as making a difference in this one. Perhaps McBain can help us get a bit more going offensively or bring some effectiveness to the powerplay. The Sabres can definitely score on the Penguins so long as they aren't hitting crossbars, missing shots, and getting robbed.

I've been looking forward to seeing McBain in a Sabres uni since he was acquired. Stuff hasn't gone his way the past season or two and I'm hoping a change of scenery and a decent pairing will allow him to bring some offensive talent to the mix.

Tallinder brings experience, on ice intelligence and situational awareness that a few of our guys haven't acquired yet. It's been a bonus to see that he's been more mobile than was reported.

win or lose i don't care, I want to see something from Hodgson, Ennis ect. tonight. These guys are at the point in their careers where they need to become consistent performers.

I love all the pens fans saying how this will be an easy win for them. They are seriously underestimating you guys. It is quite pathetic too be honest. Yesterdays game showed us that nobody should ever underestimate a team. I am hoping you guys can come out with a win so that you can shove it in the pens fans faces.

So far this season @BuffaloSabres Ryan Miller has stopped more shots than any other goalie has faced http://espn.go.com/nhl/statistics/pl...4/seasontype/2

Me too, but I don't think we will.

We have really bad games against the Pens...

Buffalo played a good game last night, though losing in that fashion may be deflating.

Hopefully they can bounce back. If they keep up the effort from last night they'll soon be rewarded.

The eternal optimist in me says 5-4 Sabres win in extra kicks. Let's go Buffalo!

Interesting... sabres practice an identical warmup breakout drill as the pens. Must be just a standard hockey drill?
