I don't think the 24CH producers get 100% of the raw footage. The Habs brass probably gives them the "polished" stuff.

Is it just me or does the SwissHabs video for episode 11 stop playing a few minutes in but the audio is still there?

Also, if anyone has a stream it would really be appreciated.

If you are pre-occupying yourself enough with what a teammate is shouting that you can actually stop and get annoyed by it then either your head's not in the game or you're playing recreational curling or something.

Agreed with both you and the guy you quoted.

The rah-rah crap is really irrelevant, usually the guys that do it do it to get themselves into it.

Now, teammates that call out teammates for not working, that's something else.

You got to be your own cheerleader.

Agreed with the bolded part. Those who do it typically do it to psych themselves into it.

Video of Therrien demanding to play like grinders

I was watching CH24 and nearly fell of my easy chair when Therrien demanded that the team stop playing "a fancy game" and play like grinders. REALLY?

Unfortunatly, I didn't keep it. Does anyone have a copy of it and can post it? That has to be kept forever, along with the Captain of the Titanic saying "it's just a scratch, this ship is unsinkable".

.

not to defend MT cause i'm not a fan of his but whats wrong with that...we've had more success playing a grinding game than a fancy game.

not having the size does not mean we cant grind

grinding means winning battles, being first on the puck, heading to the net
thats how this and any team in todays nhl will win

playing a pretty perimiter game with 25 passes before you're in position to shoot does not
i'm pretty sure thats what he means by grind

This is exactly what I was talking about regarding Bourque, who is a goalscorer NOT a grinder.

Instead of putting square peg in round hole, why not ACQUIRE top 9 grinders and let the goalscorers benefit?

Last I checked, that's how you put the finishing touches on a winning team. For years Lombardi had the reverse problem, he'd put together a bunch of two-way grinders, but they could never score when it mattered because the style they played was too predictable.

Basically, the team is burning the candle at both ends of the stick. It can't last.

Small and fast team playing a grinding style. Yeah, good luck with that.

If Price wasn't having an awesome year we would be so ****ed in the standings.

To be fair with Therrien, our small players aren't that skilled to begin with

And we wonder why the team is usually half injured.

They're more skilled than he gives them credit for. Guys like Plekanec, Eller, Pacioretty, Briere, Desharnais and Galchenyuk have way more creative potential than what they're showing, simply because they're asked to cut down on East-West play, put the puck behind the D and take low percentage shots hoping we can get on the rebounds first. When you drill that kind of uninspired Cunneyworth like mantra 24/7 into your players' heads you get the kind of insipid offensive play you're seeing right now.

You have any more of it? The part where he goes up to the whiteboard? We are not a fancy team? The entire sequence had me screaming at the tv.

Thank you for what you posted and I hope you have more of it.

Bingo. Or someone who can win the Norris playing like a 6th defenceman.

I think this is why Therrien will be fired within a year or two. He's perfect for setting up a hard-working culture where players are held accountable, but at a certain point that gets old. The players need to be cut loose a bit, and more creativity in our breakouts and offensive zone play would be nice...

We severely lack talent though, and it's showing big time! I'd kill for Kane or Stastny.
