Thank you. I am well aware that the slug is gone. However when a design is that bad they will have to live with the insult for several seasons. Maybe the day their fans come to NAtionwide and do not throw F bombs at 5 year old kids I will think to address them by name. DEATH TO THE SLUGS!

I'm going to mention this game every time we're behind and the posters show their quit.

Though, yes, we played **** for vast stretches of the game, and looked heartless out there.

Atkinson looked more and more comfortable out there on the left wing beside Duby and Gabs, hopefully the lineups stop switching up so much. Really the offense looked okay on the cycle and in the o-zone, but our defence is just bad.

Prout was terrible. Didn't look as mobile as he was last year and had awful turnovers.
Wiz wasn't as dumb tonight, but still kind of scary.
JJ not getting a clear that led to the Isles powerplay and goal. That's an old story.
Savard was ok, but failed to capitalize despite lots of time with the puck. My rule with Savard is if you can see him thinking, he's thinking too much.
Murray had bad turnovers, but one really nice pinch that has me excited to see him again.
Nikitin was invisible, which means he was our best tonight.

I want to see Erixon in, seriously. Golo too. Bench some of these bums.

Finally last year's team shows up!
It's too bad that we don't play again until Thurs, but they can work on some things until then.

I would trade both for Publix, definitely the 1st place we go when we get to Tampa to get the staples. Better bakery, better deli better prices.

Prout was the only dman i have defensive complaints about. Murray was alright, wis was better, nikitin was good, and outside of one bad clear and a penalty JJ was solid too. Savard tries to be too cute sometimes

A few notes (overly optimistic and overly pessimistic, of course).

1. Bobrovsky willed us into OT and through the shootout. He deserves all the credit in the world. Nabokov also played very well.

2. The Jackets need to stop waiting till they're 2 goals down before they show up. This team has not held a lead yet through 6 periods.

3. Johnson has really showed up. He is a workhorse defensively and is a major factor in creating our offense. Dubinsky too is trying to do everything (much to his credit). Gaborik has looked sharp even though he was shut down tonight. Our veterans (even Letestu, Mackenzie, Anisimov, etc.) are trying and it's obvious.

4. Johansen is looking much more like a top-6 center. I know he didn't actually score that goal, but he has created for himself numerous chances and was really the forward who showed up in the 1st. His shots are sharp, his passes quite good, his skating and stick handling look top notch. While he's not a game breaker (yet), he is definitely showing improvement and I'm impressed. Can't fault Umberger for lack of trying but he is no Gaborik (or even an Atkinson or Anisimov for that matter). I'd like to see Johansen with someone who can snipe.

5. Murray should be sent down in my opinion. Yes he made some glaring mistakes last night. Yes he is pinching quite well and obviously has potential. But I think the team (and Murray) would benefit if Erixon were in his spot and Tyutin came back. It isn't even that Murray is not ready. It's more that Murray isn't ready to be Wisniewki's partner. Jenner also has been unimpressive, but he can function on the 4th line so I'm ambivalent about sending him down.

6. Savard has really impressed me. He has a ways to go but his foot speed has improved massively and he certainly took his poor last season seriously and worked hard to improve it. Kudos to him.

7. I don't think the left over ice in front of the Islanders' net during the shootout was "gamesmanship" as resident dunce Jeff Rimer kept claiming. Nassau is a dilapidated arena and I just think the equipment stinks. Nothing against the team really.

8. Most importantly, the Jackets need to realize that laying an egg in front of a sold out home arena is UNACCEPTABLE in any sense of the word. The team has essentially lost the city of Columbus and is now trying to win them back. While a heroic come-from-behind victory against a divisional opponent is great, they need to win when it counts the most. That is at home, with a huge audience, and on a big occasion like opening night. I don't care if you need to bribe the officials, those games are an absolute must win end of story.

Is there a more underrated player in the NHL than Letestu?

Gotta agree there, building dilapidated or not, the equipment, ice, boards, glass, etc has to be kept up to NHL standards. That snow was left there to slow down the puck. No way Cam makes the moves he did with all that snow. NHL should take a look at that whole situation.
