I'm in a twisted mood; I want him in either Colorado or Detroit... just to see the teams squirm about trying to fit under the cap while still trying to sign the boy to a contract of his demands
some interesting people would come up for trade!

Anaheim, the league's new poster child cannot play for the MIGHTY DUCKS. The name just ruins any credibility.

I think Minnesota would probably be the worst place, followed by any other place that already sells out or nearly so. He goes there, he doesn't sell a single additional ticket.

As a Sabres fan, naturally I think he'd be great there. As this is a Habs board, I know this is a tough sell, but here's why (fwiw, I live nowhere near Buffalo, so I'll be getting the games via digital cable regardless):

-- The NHL wants and needs to court fans in the US. As cruel as the truth can be, the fans they want to court will never give a crap about anything that happens in Canada.
-- No town in professional sports has suffered like Buffalo.
-- Buffalo is a great hockey market. Loud, loyal fans who have largely stuck with the team through some very lean years.
-- Crosby competes for media attention with the Bills. The safest bet in sports is betting against the Bills.
-- Vanek - Crosby - Afinogenov. That'd be one sexy SportsCenter friendly line for years to come.
-- Buffalo is a stones throw from Canada, and so can draw down Canadian fans to the HSBC. You Canadian fans have been getting inundated with this kid since the day he made all that wine at that wedding, and it'd be just mean to deny access.
-- The NHL still owes Buffalo BIG TIME for Hulls (non)goal in the Finals.
-- If Crosby can help lift the Sabres to elite status, it's the kind of story that the mainstream US national media loves. Small town teams and historical underdogs will always be loved by the media. Remember the '80 Olympics? Of course you do, because the media STILL hasn't shut up about it.
-- If Crosby is everything he's made out to be, the story will get out regardless of where he hangs his hat. Gretzky did fine for the league in Edmonton, Lemieux did fine in Pittsburgh. Okay, fine -- Kariya did dick all in Anaheim, but Kariya is a pantywaist.
-- Conversely, If Crosby busts in a large market (NY, TOR, CHI, DET), after all the hype and all the hopes, it's a big hit for the league.
-- The Sabres are historically tightwads. Crosby will be a free agent by his 25th birthday, and anyone could have him in his prime.
-- Okay sue me: I'm a Sabres fan, and it'd make me happy. That's the big one.

Personally I just pray Sidney Crosby winds up anywhere but Carolina. They made it to the Stanley Cup finals and the fans didn't even follow the team the next season.

The worst market in the NHL if you ask me.

I voted for Buffalo because I thought the question was, which would be the worst for the Habs?

But Carolina would be the worst for hockey in general.

No question. Toronto hands down. Could you imagine Cherry and the rest of the Leafs fans if they win that lottery [shudders violently]!

Toronto. They say they are Cup winners or frontrunners every year. Imagine what we would have to listen to if they nabbed Crosby?

What did I tell you about straying from the Politics Board

If Crosby can't be a Hab - I'd prefer he went out west.

Toronto or Boston. If Crosby ended up with of those team, he would become the enemy. Not just any enemy, but a Bruin or a Leaf, and that would SUCK.

Why is Buffalo on the list? Of all the teams with three chances to win I would want Crosby to end up there the most. We would get to see him play on a regular basis and the Sabres have a good organization so it would be good for him too.

Toronto.
Boston.
Ottawa.
Philadelphia.

Any Habs fan worth their salt would hate one of those four getting Sid than worrying about Sid going to a non-traditional market (where he'll probably do some good, in any case).

If your team gets Crosby, where this ''guy with no heart'', ''this fat lazy guy''...I forgot his name....hum....Thornton!!!! Where this clown Thornton is gonna play? Because I don't think, either Thornton or Crosby could play on the left or right side.

You should check your hockey knowledge... Not high at all...

Where did Crosby played in the last World Junior Championship? Thats it! On the right side of Bergeron! That would probably be where he would play. He also played the wings with Rimouski this year. So he can't play on the wing now??? Seriously, check your facts next time...

Boston for sure

The B's fans are always thinking they have the 2nd coming of a great player and most are impossible to reason with. If they get him, I wont hear the end of it
