Well, regardless I expect with the way that he's playing right now his game will only translate better into the playoffs...especially with the chemistry of the MacTurris line.

If Neil or phillips were injured I would give an "A" to Ryan.

Safe to say Phillips and Neil will likely still be assistants next year, so which very-long-serving, heart and soul, originally drafted by Ottawa player are you suggesting ripping an A away from to give to Ryan?

If Ryan re-signs long term with the Sens next offseason, I'm all for giving him an A when one or both of Phillips and/or Neil are gone, but to rob either of them of that when they have bled, sweated, and teared for this team for so long would just be wrong.

The way I feel about his play right now, I'd sign him to that in an instant. But he can't be extended until (if I remember) July 1, 2014 at the earliest.

It's awesome to see him doing so well for you guys, he's always been a fan favorite and I'll always love what he did for us.

I agree with you wholeheartedly, but due to Getzlaf and Perry he was never going to get that role in Anaheim. I feel like his best years are still ahead of him.

That the reason why I was super stoked the most when we got him. The guy is clutch and money in the playoffs. Always steps up.
His game definitely elevates in the playoffs. A true playoff stud.

I got to see this one live:

And where did all this "Spezza-Michalek-Ryan is the best line in hockey" talk come from? Right now Turris is playing much better.

Prove me wrong Ryan!!
Has he proven you wrong yet?

Another goal and 2 assists tonight.

That has him leading the team with 9 goals and 18 pts in just 16 GP!

It also doesn't hurt that he's a +10.

yeah it's a good point, i don't see them ripping it off them and giving it to bobby r. say one of them is traded/retired though? (i know unlikely)
But i still think if it was a possibility, giving him a letter would help to sway him.

Ryan peaking in Ottawa? Would really be amazing if he reached his draft potential here. So far he's been better than I think anyone hoped he could be when we traded for him.

MacArthur is also playing way above what I think people expected, and Turris is flourishing...Anderson...Ottawa really is the island of misfit toys.

It hurts to lose Alfie...,

... but Ryan is incredible! He is quickly becoming an unofficial on-ice 'captain.' Despite his polite and humble diffusion of the comparison thus far, his performance speaks for itself ... currently 10th overall in points, 8th in goals and 22nd in +/-!

(A couple of interesting facts: Turris is 11th in +/- and Rob Klinkhammer is 6th overall. )

That take-away for the EN was soooo damn nice. Turris played it really well too. Ryan and Turris just make each other better.

I'm not a homosexual. But if I were to become one it would be to pursue a relationship with Bobby Ryan.

But Murray sucks at trading and UFA signing... That's what I have learned here.

While I'm really glad about Ryan's play, I'm totally impressed by MacArthur. +13, 11 pts in 15 games

Thought the contract was fair (and some of our whiners were saying awful contract ), but so far it's a steal.

So I guess he came in hot.

Philly is a UFA after this season. There's an A for Ryan.

Yeah, MacA is quietly flying under the radar as a great player for this team. I couldn't be happier with this play.

But I have to mention one more thing about Ryan. What a TEAM guy!! Not only is he a great player, he seems to be right in there in a leadership position and a guy you would want around. When MacA (I think that was him) went head first into the boards as Ryan scored, the first thing he did was call the coaching staff and get help and see if he was OK. And last night going to scoop up Boro's puck from the net.

He's a classy classy guy...

I feel the same way. He seems like a genuinely nice guy and he's incredible at hockey.

The more I see of him the more I become confused at how he got buried in Anaheim. Same with MacArthur...he's not the most talented offensively (he's good) but MacA is an amazing skater.
